Oh I love a good venison! My dad stocked the freezer every year and it was our staple meat. You know, a lot of this food is really similar to what I grew up eating in Wisconsin.

Been to Scotland 6 times as it’s my husband’s home country as well as other spots in the UK. I can say without hesitation Scotland has the best pub food. Love the Mac & Cheese. Plus haggis bites a must to try. All the best from Canada.

I had terrific haggis when I was there, and I have found in my recent trips there that it is on many more restaurant menus than in the past. Scottish food is fabulous, what with all the seafood and fish, cooked beautifully and with lovely sides. I am getting hungry just talking about it right now.

if you're ever around the Dundee area, you should go to Arbroath and get an arbroath smokie. Or Clarks 24 Hour Bakery (Clarkies) in Dundee. The Angus/Dundee area is great for berries this time of year too!

Maybe you could do a video about Scotland's native dogs ? I would love that. You could interview breeders and introduce the dogs and talk about their history. I promise you you will get a lot of views. Some of the dogs are the Scottish Deer hound, the West Highland Terrier, Skye Terrier, and a lot more. There are also few breeds of cattle and sheep. And one chicken breed and one cat breed. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Dog_breeds_originating_in_Scotland

I’m Yorkshire born, Black Pudding, hand picked Mushrooms from the Yorkshire moors, all things I grew up loving. My daughter and her Scottish partner after a trip to visit his family recently brought back to Dorset some Scottish goodies I’ve never tried and I loved it! Scotch pie and Stornoway being my favourite. Yummy 😋

When I was young I was brought up on Scottish comfort food like 'stovies' and 'tattie drottle'. My father worked in a whisky distillery. The distilleries bonded warehouse was guarded by geese, every Christmas the distillery gave my father one of their geese for our Christmas dinner. I remember giving him a hand plucking the goose before he hung it in the hallway for a couple of weeks to drain the blood and mature the meat. Great times.

Spent a month in Scotland and the food was delicious!!❤ I didn't try the blood pudding but tried just a spoonful of haggis. Reminded me of liver paste or bronswager. Loved the oat cakes with a venison liver paste like spread. The salads were fresh field greens with sliced tomato. The mushroom soup at Eilean Donan castle was to die for! Ofcourse, the fish and chips were awesome, the meat pies and desserts! Very very good food!!❤🤗👍

I'm not used to seeing our wee honest toun of musselburgh just pop up in videos ahaha. I'm glad you like it here. If you want a nice walk around the cost, cross the river esk to the east side ( just off the side of musselburgh high street next to the war memorial and the caprice) and follow the river north. You'll see a little building on the river mouth, just walk around it and keep going. You can follow that nice coastal path around to access the lagoons, but it also goes next to musselburgh race course and the golf course. another nice walk is down the grove, also handily next to the river esk. The easiest way to access the grove is to go up that steep hill next to musselburgh grammar and turn left until you see the mud path leading down to the river. another entrance is around behind the job centre, below the car bridge that leads into stoney bank and olive bank road. It's one of my favourite routes back through town on days when I want to avoid the school students. The grove is busier than i'd really like, but it's still nice to walk through.

I've never been to Scotland, but this makes me think of the menus in Prague. The left page is the list of meats you can eat. The right page is the list of sauces and gravies you can have with your meat. Delicious, but I would like a vegetable or two. At least you had some.

matt18m18 I have yet to eat in a restaurant (non-chippy) where the food doesn't come with some sort of vegetable. And he's not kidding when he says most things are local--most of the menus make a point of telling you where in Scotland the food is from. It is crazy delicious.
