I been a muzzle loader shooter many years. Have also experience as a military historical re-enactor. When i shoot black powder rifles or muskets i use a standard military load of 55 grains of 2F black powder. I make my ammo as pre-rolled paper cartridges so that i don't have to carry a powder horn ,lol. I just tear open a cartridge, pour a super tiny amount into the frizzen and then load the rest down the barrel, followed with the patched ball. I carry all my pre made ammo in a rev war or civil war style cartridge box on a waist belt.

I have one of these. The inletting was not done correctly so the action was hanging up on the inside. Had to carve that out. Then the spring for the frozen was so hard that it would not work the frizzen . I finally got it to work. Very tiny weak little locks on these rifles. Not a comfortable stock either. But a challenge to keep it working and it is fun for that alone.

Don't buy this brand it's a cheaply made piece of junk that probably wont last long before braking, but if you just want a wall hanger then it's good! The percussion version is most likely to be alright as far as function but not this cheaply made over priced flintlock.

The steel is a little soft on these rifles. But, if you keep plenty of lube inside that lock and it should last for many years. I think L&R makes a replacement lock for that rifle. You can get one from Track Of The Wolf or Dixie Gun Works. Thanks for the video.
