I love watching trains. As a boy there was a yard train I believed they called a 45 tonner that move empty hopper cars that into and out of the 3 gravel quarries in the area and hooked them together so a big freight train could stop and grab them and take them to who knows where. They always had empties they would leave and take full away. Those guys had the best job in the world.

The locomotive looked pretty new. Imagine in your kitchen drinking a morning cup of Java as you wave at the engineer and he waves back as he passes by with his boxcars. Vermont.

Nice train shots, I remember a time when the cars were graffiti free, with all strict OSHA rules, and he wasn't wearing a safety vest. Thanks for bringing us along.

I’d hate to live in those houses 20 feet away from the tracks. Youre whole house would shake.

That's the fun of living so close. I had friends who live 20' off the elevated trains. You look out their window and you see wheels. People can get used to anything.
