Welcome to this video for the all new Birmingham Cross City, Lichfield - Bromsgrove & Redditch Route for Train Sim World 3. This route is created by ‪@DovetailGamesDTG‬.
The video Covers the route in detail between Bromsgrove and Lichfield Trent Valley. The Redditch Branch will feature in future videos and streams moving forward.

Sounds are newly recorded for the TSW version I believe. DTG worked with Daisy, a beta tester who also works as a guard on the 323 for WMR, she provided a ton of reference material and new recordings for the 323. Daisy was driving on the preview stream for the route.

Daisy also provided the sounds for the TSC version which i believe are the same sounds. They have been mixed by a different team for TSW3 which have a much better result this time round :)

very nice route well put together had a brief run on the route and was pleasantly suprised ,was worried about the price but justified so far. the train is great to drive, the stations artwork is top notch well done on this route dtg.

I grew up on the same road as Gravelly Hill station. The attention to detail is very good. Btw, Villa Park isn't round Aston train station. It's a stop up, at Witton, which is on the Walsall line - left as you leave Aston heading north. I imagine the devs would make a DLC that brings that line in to play. Then it'll be there, as you can't miss it!

Yes excellent route! Many Australians will enjoy this as it is similar to many urban routes here too. Hope to see GEML Ipswich line in future.

I believe that this is the best route that dovetail available out I absolutely love it I do the same route as you when I downloaded it last night awesome as that's the only words I can think of to describe it Pat yourself on the back dovetail an amazing job to be honest Great Western was my favourite up until I got this yesterday this is by far out of all the routes my favourite I love it I started at Bromsgrove on a beautiful sunny day and ended up at Litchfield in a blizzard lol

They done a Brillant job on this route. Will be one ill drive a lot too. GSMR Is defiantly a step in the right direction. Apart from New Street doesn't really fell empty with lack off other stock at the moment too.

22:46 In terms of Motor Sounds, you may be thinking of the Class 365/465's with that one. As they do have that hum noise before the motor cuts out.

I agree too, it would be great over time if DTG could donate some dev time to getting the older routes to use the newer TOD4 system. It totally transforms the routes!

Personally, I think this will be one of the best TSW add-ons to date. Whilst it's a shame New Street will be so empty, having the station in the game makes a WCML add-on much more likely - which would allow the platforms to be populated by Pendolinos and 350s. The 323 sounds easily match AP standards in my opinion.

Still can take 45 mins to an hour to drive depending on your stopping pattern. Another route id gladly welcome though!

Hopefully we get Birmingham New Street/ some of the Cross City used for another route (Like Birmingham - Hereford or Bristol/Cheltenham if they got the Crosscountry licence) as this seems like it could be a good building block for a few routes, especially as it could also make New street more busy

In regards to the Rheostatic braking hum, you might be thinking of the 1996 stock, pretty sure that does that.

I live in Birmingham and I use the cross city line quite regularly and the scenery is very good but the sounds are not incredibly accurate but their good enough

For some reason it's more audible on the Northern 323s (Thud, deeer whoop whoop and vice versa) No idea why but from Personal experience as a Passenger it's noticeable.

Good video. Just a couple of tips on driving, try and avoid using brake step 3 and stop in brake step 1 to provide a more comfortable ride for the passengers. The acceleration and braking is very fast on these units. Nice route but the train sim classic version is good enough for me, so as I already have that version I will not be buying this version. As a fun challenge you could do a few videos where you pull different trains with a lot of coaches or wagons up the lickey incline, either in train sim world or train sim classic.

Nice video although not a big fan of electrics, prefer dirty diesels. I would love to see Liverpool to Manchester and the Rivera line in train sim world soon. With a pacer. As a cat lover I love that they included cats. 🐱 Would be even better if you could pet them!

I’ve noticed a change of tone in your TSW videos recently. I kinda get why, but please don’t lose the ability to hold their feet to the fire where it’s needed. This is a typical DTG route for me…large areas of greatness brutally let down by glaring in-attention to detail and downright sloppiness. I can’t square the circle where we see the sort of detail on the back of those signals you mentioned, then they add the Redditch branch with zero line-side scenery. How the hell does it get released like that? The unrelenting brightness of that cab is also a real immersion killer, as is the GSM-R screen randomly going blank…rubbish QA yet again. But yet we’ve got pointless cats…talk about getting your priorities upside down! I also can’t agree with your view on New Street…it’s a bland pale box missing the sort of detail that virtually every other station on the route has. There is no clutter, no grime, no colour, no shops/stalls, no life. It’s the showpiece station yet on the inside it’s just a big beige blah. They’d made some good progress with this sort of stuff recently, coffee shops and the like, but with New street sadly we’re back to square one again. It’s a good route but these problems make it a 7.5/10 for me. If they put a bit of effort into sorting out the really glaring issues (and do it ASAP, not 12 months from now) it’ll be 8.5 or 9.

Whilst there may be some change to the style (it's not listed as a review nor a first look) considering we were given the route free to show, we will never shy away from our opinions, we did raise a number of issues in our opinion in this video (the fact the gsmr is borked among those), but overall really like the product, the beauty of opinions is everyone is entitled to one 🙂 We do work with DTG on a daily basis so naturally can't go screaming at stuff as much as in the past, that said this is a far cry from some of the disasters of the past (WCML South) and to us is also a far cry from some TSW products of the past.

Absolutely, I get it. I liked that you called it as you saw it in the past but totally understand that in the world we live in that’s no longer possible. I’d still love to know why so many TSW releases feel like they’re 2 or 3 weeks away from being finished. This route is good, but it could be really great if it just had that extra polish. There’s absolutely no excuse for that missing scenery on the branch line, none at all. Anyway, I’m really hoping JT & ATS are able to bring over your TSC levels of quality to TSW! 🙏🏻

@@JetWash944 We will still call it as we see it don't worry, just perhaps not as blunt! I think in this instance the opinion just differs slightly, I think for us the biggest issue is Soho Depot missing as explained in the vid, that was a real drop of the ball.

A great route but £30 is a disgrace imo. One unit, 37 mile route and we're charging £5 over the standard price? DTG are pushing their luck more with time... sorry to say it I am in no way buying this unless it gets discounted.

Same man, was looking forward to this but price is setting me back and i usually buy them first day, i will just be waiting for discount while this happens and i have a plenty amount of DLC from tsw2. Got god of war to keep me busy in the meantime.

Everyone is entitled to have there say and opinion and i totally respect that. However it was inevitable that one day DTG prices would go up. We as a community for so long have been used to the £24.99 routes. But aslong as the quality doesnt slip and the content is of a good quality i have no issue. At the end of the day these higher quality products take a lot more work and effort than a TSC one.

It’s not too bad for the starter pack if you are new to the game. They have to make a profit or you end up with no new releases. Or TSW4,5,6 etc.

@@TrainSim_TV Totally understand that point - I just wish we had a bit more content! SEHS had a lot more route and several units but came under the normal route price too. Quality aside, as I don't doubt Cross-City's at all, I think it needs to be priced a little more fairly based on the amount of content it provides primarily. That's just my 50p though!
