25-year-old Allen is a trainee accountant living in Manchester. He earns £13,000 a year, unfortunately, this is swamped by his £17,000 debt. Allen lives for socializing and extravagance, he eats out at least once every single day. Most nights of the week Allen can be found doing the rounds of the Manchester bar scene, and if there’s a party going down, you can guarantee that Allen will be going over the top.

It also depends, did they get their value from using the item before its value was used up. If every gadget is seen as a waste of money, then there will be no gadgets as there will be no point inventing or making them. If his Playstation or whatever got hours of use over a few years, then it was probably worth the money he spent on it at the time

I have something to say without even watching this...my husband died alone, a wreck of a man. Someone who made and spent loads of money in his youth...set nothing aside for his later years. Left his 4th wife and 4th known child with below poverty resources. Left a black mark behind, so no one misses him. He had the best of everything and threw it all away...just having fun...just doing what he wanted...he broke hearts and lives. And die a long rather awful death in a nursing home after doctors refused to see him anymore, because there was nothing left to help him.

Where the people in debt because of things like car bills, pet bills, kids needs,??? And then you end up putting groceries on credit? Just me. I'm drowning in debt. I suck at managing money. And "all the rainy day" oopsy happened. I wish I could stop partying or buying clothes or whatever.. zero bought.

Was that 4 bags of groceries? That would be WAY more in Canada. Depending on choices, anywhere from $40 to $100!
