Training for Street Self Defense? Haymaker or Wide Hook Defense

The biggest thing for me when it comes to self defense is focus on training responses under pressure.
Regardless which type of system your train, Wing Chun/JKD, Jiu Jitsu, MMA. Muay Thai, Boxing and etc.., all great! But it's very important that we take our training with pressure, scenarios, environments, and body types into consideration. I listed out a few training options and defenses against a Haymaker or a wide hook base on the system I practice.
Don't forget to check out the training drill that I am sharing with you guys towards the end of the video! It's important that we also train our eyes too! (So we don't blink when someone throws a punch at you)

The person on defense has the advantage in many respects. While you are blocking and parrying wiht your hands, you can work in a front thrust kick and set up a counter-attack combination.

I think the idea of the check is to Linda fake/show you don’t want any trouble and then as that gives them more confidence to come in closer to you they open themselves to be parried or hit

I’ve watched your videos you are a great fighter but if The only Wing Chun you teach is watered down then why even label it as wing chun

As you may already know, it’s hard to show Wing Chun via videos. But it has always been my root and my fundamentals to my striking games. I want to show how Wing Chun concepts can be blended into different martial arts and be beneficial to the trainings.

@@KevinLeeVlog I understand it is way more effective when you mix in other techniques and martial arts but for me wing Chun is more than martial arts it’s how I live my life I just don’t want wing Chun to be looked at like some kind of thing you can just learn and go beat up someone, but keep up the good work your technique and precision is very impressive
