My problem is I'm just to scared to do a flip in the first place. I know once I try at first I'll get over it, and I have all the pre positions done correctly, but right when I try to flip I hover. Idk I'm going back to the indoor trampoline place tomorrow and hopefully I can at least attempt one :)

Just master a Sommeersault with little bounce and gradually go higher aka try and go through your legs

if they have a foam pit, then it would be a hell of a start. just don't smash your face on your knees. you can always start small and work your way up. like Alyssa Vids said

Glad this helped you out. keep in mind there are a few changes to the front drop i've made since this video. check out the lazy back video. it gives a much better and safer method of the front drop. also, the head in the back drop should be up but still make light contact with the trampoline bed. Thanks for watching

it could be that you are sticking out your bum or bending your legs as you land. Another thing is that your kick out from the tuck could be lazy hence you could be kicking out as a pike instead of straight. More tuck could be needed either. To answer your question really I would need a video!

I finally got a trampoline after years and years of inactivity due to growing too old for them (There are no adult sized trampolines where I lived) I used to do all manner of front and backflips as a self taught, but man right now my muscle memory just doesn't exist anymore lol I gotta re-learn everything, pretty much.
@NoPainNoJustice

given that some techniques are different, i agree with you for most of these differences. but this tutorial is geared toward complete beginners. i would not advise someone to kick out at the roof of a front sault (even though that is proper technique) until they have a good understanding of the flip and rotation itself. saying its an arch in my explanation of the front drop was only to simplify the idea of leveling out. although upon revision... arms should definitely be bent. Thanks Sarah!

Thank you for this video. Our neighbors bought their daughters a trampoline and are teaching them to do a front flip with their arms crossed over their chest as though they are jumping from a diving board. That seemed inherently dangerous to me, so I came looking for instructions for my own daughter when she plays there.
@NoPainNoJustice
@NoPainNoJustice 8 жыл бұрын
+Jane EB Smith sorry for the long wait. yeah, its kind of a bad idea, but acrobatics are inherently dangerous anyway. before frontflips, a good forward roll on the ground is key. Always consider breaking down a skill to its basic components before going straight into it. I hope you guys are having fun and keeping it safe. check out some gymnastics videos on basics. that might help. Handstands are also a really good way to learn how your body "feels" when its upside down.
