"A human being is like a lightbulb-we radiate out what's inside. So if you're filled with anger, stress, and hate, you'll radiate that out. People don't like to sit down next to somebody who's filled with anger and negativity. On the other hand, if you're filled with happiness and love, you radiate that out; people like that and they feel good around you. It's just the way it is" - David Lynch

I was a fan of David Lynch before I was a fan of his films. Something about him was so gravitating. I got into his films after studying Carl Jung and knew there was some sort of connection. He really helped in my awakening and I cannot be more grateful.

@@selenefee7801 👋 You don't need a teacher necessarily, but I wouldn't mind having a coach myself. It's learning to disidentify yourself from your thoughts, and realize your true nature. A great 📖 that helped me was, " The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle. There is also a book , " The Untethered Soul" The Dow De Ching is also great ... All of these available for free on Utube. 🙂❣

You know Ethan is never trust some load of crap that costs that much to give one " peace of mind". Uh huh sure. But I've seen videos of lynch saying you don't need a guru or money. Get a mantra , doesn't matter what it is, learn breathing technique and you're good to go. Some ppl wanna go pay money to do the same for free have at it but you don't need to do Mr lynch has said. I'm 63. I'm about to try it only because the ppl who've done it that I admire, ppl like lynch who are very creative get something from it. So I'll give it a shot. But don't let some woo woo institute charging rubes lots of money make you cynical. Cheers

I think if someone cuts you up in traffic, especially in a dangerous way, it’s perfectly reasonable to feel a bit angry. But if it’s a healthy anger it will evaporate almost instantly, and you won’t be telling people all day or all week about that guy that cut you up. This is the difference. We are just human beings, and reacting with momentary aggression when we are threatened is perfectly normal, and actually there are negative consequences or deliberately bottling things up, because it will certainly find an outlet somewhere. What an experienced meditator would do is just let that anger fizzle out of the mind as soon as the interaction was over.

seems to me that becoming more loving is a difficult task, to say the least. i have enough... to give to my most dear, and that's kinda the end. with all the people David must come across; he has enough in the tank to give even more? that's nearly an impossibility to me. bravo, if, in fact, that's the case.

Did it exist before the Big Bang? I think we can pretty much agree that there are other Universes. There are constants in our Universe including chaos....so perhaps a Universal consciousness is a constant across universes.

Everyone must see the video of Tat Wale Baba's one interview in India with Maharishi Rajesh Yogi which is profound in it depth and knowledge from a man who meditated most of his life in a cave in the Himalayas until one day in his 80's while taking his 4am bath he was shot in the back by. a mad man jealous of the people he drew to his cave. A story is told of two Germans who came for guidance and they asked him about the universe. Tat Wake Baba held out his hands in opposition and slapped them together and slowly pulling them apart they saw the stars, planets etc suspended in the space between his hands. The Germans freaked out and ran down the mountain never to come back.

No effort or concentration needed. It comes from an ancient Vedic tradition. And it makes sense, spiritually and scientifically. What is needed is transcending limited thinking and perception, not necessarily observing them.
@jrcsamad
@jrcsamad 3 ай бұрын
@@flaviasashainstrutoresdemt7701 The phrase "What is needed is transcending limited thinking and perception...." is misleading as in the course of doing TM over time there will be meditations filled with thoughts to varying degrees because of the release of stress and this is correct practice of TM as long as the thoughts are dealt with in the prescribed manner.

I love David and I study TM but as a practical person, him saying TM can bring peace and everyone should get on it for the better of humanity seems redundant when you have to pay. If it is that essential to humanity, which I believe it is, then the poor boy who can’t buy a school lunch should have access to it the same way a rich man can. Their parents aren’t going to get grants or handouts when they’re so hung on addiction. And, no one will teach him about TM bc he lives in the center of a state like Indiana. This life changing practice should be as available as the Bible. As I believe even the Bible isn’t as calming and consciously unifying as TM.

I liked the convo. But two things I disagree with what David said. David said something along the lines of humans typically only use 10 percent of the brain and with TM it increases. This is an outdated theory and the current neuroscience has proven than everyone is using all of their brain. Second one is. During the end, David said Anandamayi Ma went around naked before others and when other men asks her, she replied that she isn't seeing any man because in her view, only someone who is enlightened is regarded a man. I think this anecdote is completely an imaginary product of Lynch, and nothing else. Now, I have heard a story about a bhakta woman named Meera who tried to get inside the sanctum sanctorum of a temple, where her favourite God Krishna is worshipped. Women were forbidden to enter here and the male priests asked her to step back as she was a female. So Meera replied something along the lines of "We are all praktri (feminine manifestation of the divine) and there is only one purusha (male, which is God)." Now, maybe this story is what eventually somehow turned into the imaginary Anandamayi Ma story that David concocted, albeit believing it was true himself.

Ragu like the spaghetti sauce? Who is this guy? I always find it interesting to see Western white guys with somewhat Hindu sounding names, what's up with that? Srsly though I found this video because I was searching for some type of meditation practice that might help keep me from killing myself. I'm a nurse at a large Urban hospital in the US Midwest and the last few years in this country have been maddening, and all I can think about is how to escape from the madness. I know some of it is how I'm reacting to the circumstances, but the circumstances in this country so screwed up and totally dysfunctional that is hard for me to find any kind of meaning or just simply peace of mind...
