Good video but my drive didn't show the advance setting so after I shared I can only create short cut. Once I delete from original, the short cut also deleted. how to fix it?

First, share the file or folder from the original id drive to the second id drive you want. After that again click the share option from the original id only. Then in the same window, you can see the second id against which "Editor" option with down arrow symbol is available. There you will get the option "transfer ownership". Then go to the second id drive and accept both the file/folder and the invitation to own the file/folder.

@@VijayKumar-kf1bs Once you share the folder with you other account, click once more on "share" then, on the drop down menu on the right side of the account you shared the folder with there will be the option of "transfer ownership" or something like that. Hope that helps!

@@romuloc9234 i just try it, and yes you can transfer the folder ownership, but unfortunately not the file ownership, the file size still counted from the file owner storage account 😞

May2024 - That procedure only transfers the folder's ownership. Its files remain under the previous owner tho.

Advance option is no longer available so we have one more option to move files from one account to another account. 1 first we need to give editor access to root folder for destination mail id. 2 Create a new folder in destination drive and move all the items that are in the root folder to new folder so that we can able to access it after deleting the root folder from main account

But one thing I changed the ownership my photos file which is around 6GB but still the storage capacity does not reduce, I have delete the files from entire google drive. In the second account inside the folder my files owner ship is still the transferred account

I had one doubt, i tried this and now my files are easily available to my new gdrive but my doubt is , is there any chance that after a certain or long time google may end showing this files in my new gdrive which is visible for now after this method ?

I did this the other day. I cleared 1 drive completely after transferring, 7GB worth. Why does the data usage still take up 7GB on the drive I cleared? Thanks.

maybe you didn't remove the files from trash. If you clear the trash, then your drive will show that 7GB is cleared

If you created folders within the main folder you transferred ownership of, you're still the owner on the internal folders which will still take up space...
