Thanks for the video. I have heard several violin teachers take a different aproach about the left hand base Joint and im wondering which way is correct and why. I rest my violin on my base Joint of my index finger like you describing. But some say that the crease/line inbetween the Joint and the index finger should be parrellel with the E string. This raises the entire left hand and doesn't allow the violin to rest any where. Im wondering why this method is sometimes prefered

I actually have the opposite problem. I tend to slightly bend my wrist away from the violin. Any advice? Practice in front of a mirror maybe?

Hi there! Perhaps it could tension in some part of the hand that is prevent you to move your wrist forward. A mirror would help, try to imagine that the left wrist and forearm move slightly forward. That may help with the straight wrist.
