So happy to see Monica back! Monica, you were sorely missed! Welcome back! I love the yarn backdrop. It's colourful but not distracting, and it can be moved around, it's perfect. I would never have thought of doing a standing desk that way, it's a great alternative to electric desks. I'm moving into a new apartment as soon as possible and I've been re-watching all the past seasons of The Weekender for inspiration. Thank you so much!

I work from home 80% of the time so really need to find a 'spot'. I'm at the dining room table now and when I have company (not now, but in the past, and hopefully in the future) I have to move everything. It's a pain. The joys of living in a small house. LOL

While our kid is small we converted ours to a playroom/lounge with lots of cozy seating. At night when the toys are put away it's a more grownup hangout space where we can have drinks and play board games.

I love how this showed Monica's style and doable ideas and created really useful new functionality problem-solving for the sudden working at home many are facing. Having a great backdrop for video calls is such a nice touch and did look relaxing to make. Macrame-like, textural, organic, custom colors so I really dig it.

You've given me so many ideas.... my husband and I have been working from home for 20 years, last month, I moved my home office from the basement area to the main floor. I found it challenging to do my pen designs and admin work in the same space. I have a beautiful steel corner desk that has a shelf for my 2 monitors and undershelf LED lighting that also stores my closed laptop. An old steamer trunk that holds my photography props and then 4 cube bookshelf. It's a mish mash, I can't really go out and buy anything new due to the pandemic and when it's over, the first thing I'm going to make is the PVC pipe backdrop. I'm already doing this for my photography, when I saw you make one, I had a "duh I could have had a v8 moment". Thank you for your ideas!

Idea: doing room becoming children’s school once again you never disappoint. My daughter wanted book shelves and bam you just gave me an idea with the closet system and project boards. 😍

I turned my dining-living area into living-sewing-embroidery area. Instead of dining, I have a 72 inch cutting table and a retro table for my embroidery machine. I donated and recycled my books and repurposed a triple banker's bookcase into storage for fabric and supplies. It's the best use of that space in our 20 years in this home.

We have two small kids at home, and we don’t have an office room. So we need to utilize different places for the home office. It will be great to see how to DIY a walking, sitting, and standing office desk that can accommodate our needs. So the desk can be moved easily to a different room :) Thanks!
