Gemma, your guest mentioned "using the pandemic as an excuse to not do anything." It's interesting, as bad as the pandemic was, it was an amazing time for KZfaq channels to grow because since nobody could go outside, people were bored and they turned to KZfaq. I saw YT channels hit six figure followings during the pandemic and now that people are online less, channels can go from getting huge exposure to minimal exposure practically overnight.. I've seen it happen to several channels I subscribe to. At the push of a pen, or more likely a key in this cyber-world, a huge channel can lose all momentum and there is nobody to hold accountable for destroying the channel. People say "Oh, it's the algorithm." Maybe so, but when an algorithm destroys a channel, it can destroy a dream. A dream dies and an algorithm feels no remorse, no sense of self-accountability. Who made the algorithm? We don't know. The people who own the platform might know but they don't care. You're just a number to them. We're living in an increasingly impersonal world and for artists, that's not a happy thought. Having machines determine what will emotionally resonate with living, breathing people is a recipe for disaster. You can't reason with a machine and in this world where machines are becoming more ubiquitous by the day, good luck getting ahold of a person to talk to! "Thank you for holding. Your number in queue is 1,777,777. Your estimated wait time is forever." In light of this, is KZfaq, in this post-pandemic world, just as viable a way for artists to get exposure as it was in 2020 or 2022, or do you think we've seen the KZfaq bubble burst? This seems reminiscent of the dot com crash where people had been enjoying unprecedented success and then almost overnight, they lost everything.

You started with "Hey Allison, thanks for joining me today." For newer viewers like me, could you announce the last name of the artist as well so if we're interested in what that artist's music sounds like, we can look for it?
