oh this is what I needed to hear today! Am on a journey of finding my own taste or sound- and this video got me thinking that whatever is going to come out of it is gonna be alright! Because, you know, we sometimes want to be that kind of singer that is popular at the moment...but what if we are not? IT IS OOOOOKEYY!

Please watch her SNL performance! Her best performance to date! I mean I saw her at this concert at The Albert Hall which was the best concert I’ve seen in decades! But please watch SNL! You will be pleasantly surprised!

Actually if you listen more to Miley you probably don’t think the adlib was planned. Because she does it very often and change up based on her mood or occasions. She definitely has very good vocal and stage control in order to pull that and connect to the audience

Great analysis. The point one of you (not Gemma) makes about re-use of the word 'him' three times in Escapism, is I think a deliberate device in RAYE's songwriting. She does the same in 'Thrill is Gone' with the word 'better' at the end of the first three lines. It strikes the listener as odd, but then has the effect of drawing attention to what she's saying. Compare the style to Amy Winehouse's use of very simple one syllable rhymes of words that almost sound the same but aren't. RAYE takes it a step further with words that are the same! She's going to be a mega star.

My older sister used to make fun of my voice for singing like this, but I learned by mimicking Christina. Hearing this is an actual vocal technique has made my day. All this time I thought I was singing improperly💗😭

Well your sister is wrong, and jealous of you... only jealous people take the time to belittle anyone.

She’s only 26 years old from what I read it on Wikipedia. What do you mean by “how long she’s been doing this“? You give me the impression she has been trying for 15-20 years, lol.

I just came from a comments section of another video, I guess this person’s comment answers the question I was asking.: “ The industry did her very dirty! Nearly a decade in the game with no album out!? 2023 will be her year!”
@meleseini113Ай бұрын
@@Rosannasfriend lol yeha she’s been writing hit songs for other artists and pulling out all these songs for yearsss and her label tried to keep her hidden

Gemma, I'm trying to do the assignment you sent me but I don't have an email address to send it to. You asked me to: "duplicate the following notion document" and fill it in - or just copy and paste into your own document and use it as a guide"! - My questions are: "What do you mean by "notion document" and how would I get my own document to past it into? Thanks!

A modern day Diva. Made for a "Music Opera" or "Rock Opera". Her music has a "story" to tell. Add an Operatic storyline and RAYE would be the star of a whole roadshow of performers. She is truly wonderful.

3 years into my singing, song writing and producing (oh and pianists :) ) journey and at the point where its all coming together. these videos have been the icing on the cake and that's surprising after the amount of daily practice, thousands of hours of tutorials and well known online course. True artist is sharing the holly grail of information. Thanks Gemma

26:50 NO delay. That's all natural reverb from the venue. The sound engineer actually adjust the volume to stop any extraneous noise after the sustained note. You can hear it on other videos.
