In celebration of The Transformers 40th Anniversary, Karyuudo Fansubs is proud to present the first 3 episodes of the Japanese dubbed Generation 1 series translated into English for the first time for Western audiences.
Please note: We have no plans to do the remaining episodes from the Japanese dub of this series.

Thanks for this! Was always curious how closely they stuck to the original script and it turns out it was pretty darn close in most cases. Although, haha, they changed it from Jazz being flung out of his chair from an asteroid impact to Optimus apparently being the one to throw him out!

That's correct, it's only the first 3 episodes that we planned on doing as part of celebrating 40 years of Transformers. I'm sure after watching them, everyone will understand that the Japanese dub doesn't really add anything else to the series aside from some dialogue adjustments and small edits. We do hope that everyone will enjoy watching this.

@@KaryuudoFansubs Yeah, I was taking a crack at it myself and found that other than the scene trimming, Japanese names, and some cultural turns of phrase, the dialogue is pretty well the same. The only thing they really add is the narrator and he's pretty redundant most of the time. The only context he ever adds is season one in Countdown to Oblivion, and that's only because licensing issues forced them to skip all the Skyfire episoses which weren't released until the 90s home video releaeses if I recall correctly. You aren't missing a heck of a lot.

i watch the Japanese G1 because i want to know all Transformers Japanese names. they have to change the names because its too long to pronounce their name, their vocabulary is way more different than English,and its sound kinda off to hear their some of their names if pronounce in Japanese. also the fact that Japanese people still yet to learn English pronouncing back in the day. that is what i think.
