Episode 27 (Part 1) of 2 part episode. Gladman had some weird transmission slippage in 3rd gear on his YXZ at the last short course race at Joe's Speedway so he dives in to find out what the issue and fix is.

Did the same on my 17 ss & ended up blowing gears thru the case. 3rd was skipping but I kept pushing it.. now have a 19 3 pedal & im loving the manual!

I’ve always been a big fan of my 16 3 pedal car especially for racing but after the shift buttons in the 17 and a few other mods that Kevin has made to his the ss isn’t bad either!

Next car will be a 3 pedal lol. It’s nice for woods racing but not ideal for short course. But it can be done!

I put 5000 miles on a YXZ’s without a problem. It’s actually nice to see one of these taken apart. I’ve always been curious.

This one started showing signs weeks before this video…Kevin was having issues shifting to and from 3rd gear but there was really no “event” we could blame it on. We wanted to go way more in depth with this video but it happened right in the middle of the season!

How do you take out the front drive shaft

Easiest way to get just the front drive shaft out would be to bust the nuts loose under the u-joints and weasel it down out. (May have to modify a wrench) The the slip yoke should collapse enough to let it come off the trans and front diff.

Or do you mean how did I get it off the front drive of the transmission in the video?
