I am deleting my transmission thermostat because i want my oil to be filtered by my remote transmission oil filter at the oil cooler. My setup will only be filtering when 84 Celcius / 184 Fahrenheit is reached with that transmission oil thermostat. Now it will be filtered as soon as the engine is running with the transmission thermostat delete. I was wrong when saying to remove everything inside will work,bottom hole needs to be plugged... Here is my setup for my Derale Remote Transmission Oil Filter : kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aLuWiaxhqZqdeYE.html UPDATE : Now running a lot cooler,before while towing the boat in the summer i was getting 205 F /95 Celcius. Now with T-Stat delete i am getting 169 F / 76 Celcius towing my boat !

You can also use Header Wrap and wrap up the exhaust pipe that crosses under the Transmission Pan. That literally cooks the Trans fluid. I installed LongTube Headers and crossed the exhaust under the Trans Yoke Instead of the pan and my AFT Fluid takes much longer to warm up. Im doint this Trans Thermostat inversion soon too.

I did this today on my 2017. Be aware that the head of the plug reduced the flow quite a bit! I blew on it after I plugged it and it was very hard to get air flow. I went to the store and found a plug that uses an allen and it was much better.

You can't leave it out you'll cook the transmission without the pill being in there. It will work putting it in backwards though.

I am looking to do this on my 2014 Silverado. I'm in Utah and drive in the mountains quite a bit for work and play. Seems ambient surface temps also seem to cause my transmission to heat up faster. Under 100 degree outside temps I stay around 187 to 189, but when it gets over 100 I see my temps shoot up over 200 with no extra load or towing. Hopefully this delete will help. I will comment with an update when I get this completed tomorrow.
