tough call man, insurance will probably total it depending on the year. higher chance with the economy. becareful with tne insurance, some are refusing buy backs due to body shops buying cars from the owner at the difference between price +$100 or somethin.

The engine will be absolutely fine. Its simply the ancillary pieces pipes radiators etc. Bigger problem is the bodywork and gearbox. Bodywork is a HUGE mess and will require a lot of costly repair. If the gearbox is anything other than standard its an issue as it would require a rebuild rather than a replacement. Interior is mint. Overall cost however will be significant and makes it a write off.

I'm happy that you were able to tell from the video that the motor block didn't get crack, I myself would have thought there was a good chance it did, but I'm not a pro like you that can tell something like that from this video

@@hogwild5844 I'm sure you're right, the impact to the undercarriage wasn't that bad, it only total the truck after it ran up on the truck, I would say the impact was about the same as a grocery cart hitting a car in the parking lot

Sorry for your loss man. I had a 97 W140, put so much time and money into it to restore it. Just 2 weeks after it was done and I was ready to have exciting adventures with it, I was rear ended by a drunk driver in a rental bmw and my car was declared a total loss. It was really hard for me to say goodbye to it.

He 100% didn’t strap down the car, most states don’t require you to strap a car down if it’s inside a enclosed trailer. Most enclosed trailers don’t even have d rings to hook straps up to

Like your man said…unless the block is cracked the motor is fine! The only way the motor gets ruined is if you run the motor before going through it…holes in an oil cooler is minimal…remove the broken pieces…flush the system and you will be just fine. Don’t get me wrong I understand wanting to have a “pure” car when it is of this caliber but it isn’t junk by ANY means…every car is just an assembly of parts…replace the bad parts with hood parts and you will still have a great car…sometimes the knowledge of knowing the damage is more of a problem than the damage itself.

Maybe hit up WhistlinDiesel or StreetSpeed717 or even Adam LZ bc they always have reliable transportation. Hope bro gets it back and better than before. A wide body on this for a fairly decent price overall would be worth it. GL mane.

My dream car 101 is when traveling either drive it or transport it yourself, every time you let someone else transport your vehicle the likelihood of it getting destroyed goes up atleast 70 to 80%.

We had the use Mercedes-Benz AMG SL 63 Convertible for about a week! A dream car and it was stock Man I Love that car! couldn’t begin to imagine what your going thru. Hopefully it can be saved

Wow, you're wrong. I am not only a mechanic but a very good one! The engine is perfectly fine!! Even though the oil cooler lines were covered in sand/debris, all that's necessary is to remove all contaminated/broken parts, and replace. All good no question I'd run the engine after that ! No debris magically traveled all the way up into the engine. Not possible. Good luck with the body work. Will be straight forward
