Just got out of the hospital yesterday after 1 month being hospitalized, i did every treatment in this video, now im home on some medication, i can walk now and stand but not for very long, when i first got to the hospital i couldnt move anything at all from under my arms to my toes everything was paralyzed they did blood plasma transfusion and after 2 weeks i started to walk again, everything has to do with the mind you have to be determined to walk again and believe you will, they told me i was never going to walk again and now i walk with a cane, i have alot of pills to take and also i have physiotherapy to do i also have a catherder because i can not pee on my own but in about two weeks in going back to the hospital to see if i can pee without it, right now mentally im tired i sleep 3hs a night because the pills give me a big high rush so im very tired very weak and even tho i am still numbs and my whole body vibrates i still get up walk around and to my exercises because i have alot of will and determination to walk and have my lide back im only 30 years old

In March of this year I came home from playing softball and my feet were numb, after going to a chiropractor, a spine specialist,neurologist, 6 MRIs a spinal tap, steroids a specialist finally diagnosed me with transverse myelitis. I was in a wheelchair within 4 weeks and the only thing they told me to do was rehab physical therapy. which has been the best thing for me. I'm now walking with a walker, still using the wheelchair a little bit, but I feel that my body is healing itself and coming back online. it is different for everybody but the doctors don't really know a whole lot about this so don't give up, get your body strong and get all the research that you can find on it for your case. I was constipated for a little bit, I didn't have bladder problems.

I had a lesion on my entire cervical spine due to this a year ago- I couldn’t walk, couldn’t use my right arm or feel anything on my left side. Doctors didn’t know why. I did steroid infusions and it cleared up entirely a few months later. Now, three months ago I started having a major number neurological symptoms again. No new lesions, but now I have oligoclonal banding that wasn’t there last year. I thought I was done with this- the doctors aren’t sure what is happening. I’ve been tested for everything under the sun and they want to tentatively diagnose me with MS and treat me with Ocrevus…I’m just so tired of this. I just want to know why this is happening

So sorry to hear this for you. Did you know you had a 'lump' on your spine before it covered the entire spine? We are praying that MAYBE we caught it in time, for my son; but not a lot of improvement after the IV steroid infusions. I wish you the best and hope for positive results in your favor.

Then how do you come up with a diagnosis for this? Nobody seems to be able to answer that
@MedicalCentric
@MedicalCentric 12 күн бұрын
Diagnosing transverse myelitis, an inflammation of the spinal cord, can be challenging due to its varied symptoms, which may include weakness, numbness, and loss of function below the affected area. The diagnosis typically involves a combination of a detailed medical history, neurological examination, MRI scans to look for spinal cord inflammation, and possibly a lumbar puncture to analyze cerebrospinal fluid for signs of infection or immune response. Blood tests may also be conducted to rule out other conditions. Because it mimics other neurological disorders, an accurate diagnosis often requires consultation with a neurologist.
