Nigel1048 A China-hater's words: Well, I have never been to China, Xinjiang, (by the way, Xinjiang is a mandarin word) but I know them very well. For example, I know there some Chinese dishes like "the General Tso's Chicken"(In fact it's not a Chinese dish at all). I don't like China and Chinese, I hate them, so I have to find some "evidence" to against them. I dont care about whether these "evidence" are true or not, I just care about if they can work. I like negative news from China because they can make me feel "well, I'm better than Chinese" and forget my terrible real life . Here's my logic: All the opposite words must from Chinese who have been brainwashed by evil CCP, and all the words that against China are pro-democracy and pro-freedom. I 'm such a irrational and ignorance person, I just hate China.

Wow, i'd never even heard of Kashgar. As someone with a background in broadcasting, were you ever on-air? Great voice! So much awesome info about the bazaars and the camel thing you recommended at the end, has my name written all over it. If you have a minute, i'm curious how this region of China differs from other areas, as the people didn't look what I consider classical "Chinese", with paler skin and such.

+Here Be Barr Hey Jon! Thanks for stopping by :) I appreciate the kind words. This region is definitely unique. I usually tell people that I live in Central Asia instead of China, because the stereotype that pops into people's heads for the former is more correct. It's a Turkic ethnic group known as the "Uyghur" that make up about 80% of the population in this particular area. Very cool culture to experience - I think you'd really enjoy it.

Kashgar (喀什)has become my most favorite city in Xinjiang. Its unique culture atmosphere and influence absolutely intrigues me, as it is a place where Uyghurs (维吾尔族) dominate. As a lover of China's ethnic groups, seeing a city dominated by an entirely new culture, taking the place of the mainstream Han Chinese, is amazing. It's amazing to think that once a person arrives there, they will think that they are in a different country, yet it is hard for them to believe that they are still in China! Every single one of these locations you have showed me look amazing. I've never been to Kashgar, or Xinjiang for that matter, but since I'm familiar with these places, it makes me really want to jump through the screen of my phone and explore these wonderful locations with my own eyes! The Old City and Livestock Market/Bazaars, in particular, are the top places in my bucket list when I visit Kashgar. Being attracted to the Uyghurs and their culture, these are places where I can meet them, and interact with them, in person. All the while, I will be amazed that, though I am far away from mainstream Han Chinese society, I am still in the same country that they live in: China (中国)! 谢谢你给我们这个美丽的视频、Josh! 从美国、德州、的问候! 😁🇨🇳🇺🇸

You really don't realise just how diverse the culture is in China, I was aware that Islam was practiced there but seeing how close Xinjiang is to predominantly Muslim countries it is a great understanding to it all - thank you so much for sharing

'first discovered' and 'rediscovered' what exactly do you mean 'discovered'? so for the past 4 billion years it has just been hiding even from the locals i mean its always been there even before the said 'explorers walked to it???? i think that.s missing the whole point of even travelling
