I can't even believe the high quality of this cultural program. Television has certainly gone to hell in these days.

Ik mis de tijd dat er nog dit soort televisie werd gemaakt. Lekker relaxed, slow burning, zonder al te veel flashy poespas.

I've been to one of his last concerts, it was in stunning little Italian city, Viterbo, he performed Purcell and Bach. He was not satisfied with the sound and he spent at 15 minutes dismantiling his spinetta, he and tuned it and started performing again. He was a great artist

I heard Leonhardt perform several times and studied with two of his students. Unfortunately I don’t have the talent🎉 or the drive to really make anything out of it, but it enriched me spiritually in a way that nothing else could.

About three years ago I was one of the happy few to see Leonhardt organ playing at the Grote Kerk in Alkmaar. It was great. I have many music CDs of him playing Bach. When I listen to him playing Bach, I think to myself: Bach should be played this way. It is always sad to lose such a great BACH INTERPRETER. Rest in peace.

From this lesson, so analytical and precise, it is evident that Gustav Leonhardt was not only a musician and an interpreter but above all an intellectual.

Ι have listen to a Leonhardt's recital before many years. I was impressed from his looking. He was a very tall man, skinny , ever unsmiling, but with patrician manners. Of course, he played superbly.
@MrMathvr12 жыл бұрын

Fantastic... Leonhardt plays live harpsichord at: 03:05 Sarabande Suite in F minor BWV 823 J.S.Bach 32:53 Sarabande French Suite No.2 in C minor BWV 813 J.S.Bach 51:51 Prelude in D minor, 55:26 Galliarde, 56:50 Chaconne Louis Couperin Subtitles in English would be more than welcome..!
@keescanalfp51434 жыл бұрын
3:06 the sarabande is announced as “in f minor”, funnily it’s sounding to us like in f sharp minor, the ear can’t ignore the colour shifting. and then what you get to see is both keys moving and notation written in the scale of *g minor.* popping up again even clearer, at 24:15 and 25:56, instead of the other sarabande. what's up besides A 415,3 Hz .
