I'm 74 sitting here listening my favorite group . It just doesn't get any better than this. It's truly sad that Del Shannon didn't become the 6th Wilbury. I think the group would have a little better, sadly, we'll never know.

Del Shannon 1934-1990. If he had lingered just a minute longer his work was about to explode on the internet. A towering figure ripe for serious accolades and unprecedented recognition. We're even STILL trying to grasp just how influential he was. The TRAVELING WILBURYS verily worship through this rendition, each lovingly bearing a soft spot for this man's work and soul. This is probably the best cover of the Del Shannon song runaway ever produced. The Traveling Wilbury's nailed it perfectly. they were the ultimate super group.

I am 32 and my Dad is 72. Del I think was a mentor for my Dad during the Vietnam War and my Dad played lead guitar for him in the early 60s during a 3-month long summer tour. Tom Petty and Del were very good friends. Idk what exactly happened with all of this. But I am so happy that the Traveling Wilbury's did this song to commemorate Del. Some of us " younger" people still enjoy these classics, a time that was simpler. A time we didn't really get to see. But, my heart aches tonight for all of these great musicians, and the stories still untold. God Bless everyone and stay safe.

The Travelling Wilburys....Wow...were we lucky that they happened to get together for the short time we had them. I miss George Harrison so much....I once lived 20 mins from Liverpool...my most magical memories of the music scene that I treasure to this day. Great talent came out of Liverpool....so many fantastic groups.

i was in pre-school when these guys were rolling out their first album and as a 4 year old, i remember telling my teacher they were my favourite ...real musicians to be cherished...

Del Shannon has been a huge inspiration for Jeff Lynne who is singing this cover...From 1972 to 1986 Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra has had more top 40 hits than any other groups in the world. 50 years later they still play in sold-out Arenas and Stadiums. I just saw them this Summer of 2019 on the US and Canada Tour...( Best Concert of my life) All the reviews agree they are the best live act in the world and Jeff Lynne is a Music Genius. They are in the Rock Hall of Fame. Lynne is on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and Birmingham Walk OF Fame. Jeff Lynne’s ELO won the Best Classic Rock Band plus Lynne won the best Song Writer award ( ASCAP ) 2019 for his fantastic contribution over the years. Excellent rendition! Rock & roll was a little candyland in the early 1960's but this song stood out. The guys did a great job.
