We spend our first day in Ipoh, Perak exploring the old town and sharing our first impressions of this Malaysian city most tourists don't know about, answering the question: what is it like? This beautiful & underrated city is known for its stunning landscapes, enchanting local culture, and exciting attractions and there's no better way to explore than taking a stroll through the quaint, cobblestoned streets of Old Town Ipoh to take in the sights of the historic buildings, Chinese shophouses, and the beautiful street art. Outside of the old town there's so much more to see and do. You can visit the Ipoh limestone hills and explore the mysterious caves, temples, and waterfalls. In the evenings you can head over to the Kinta River walk and enjoy the stunning views of the gorgeous riverbank which lights up at night. Ipoh is also extremely famous for the Malaysian white coffee which originated here and all kinds of authentic dishes you can only try in Ipoh Perak! There's so much to see and do here in Ipoh, so let's go and see if it's worth a visit on your next trip to Malaysia.

Ipoh is my hometown. I grew up in all the places you’ve visited. Ipoh known as an art town in the sense of cultural gravities, music, theatre etc. Taiping (near Perak) also has become the retirement home for senior citizens here. Dont forget to complete your journey by having breakfast at New Hollywood (Best combo with Kuew tiaw goreng, Chee Cheong Fun, Roti Telur Goyang, Kopi Ais) and have morning walk at Padang Polo Ipoh! Keep making videos!

We also prefer Ipoh compared to Penang. Food is great, coffee is fantastic. FYI, pomelo is famous in Tambun, which is very near Ipoh. Best pomelo in the world.

I was on the train from Georgetown to KL today & was watching your video a few miles before Ipoh. I was so tempted to get off the train and check out the town. Unfortunately, couldn’t stop, but all your videos have helped to make my first visit to Malaysia extra-enjoyable.

that white building with a cross is a school. It's a Christian Missionary School named after Saint Micheal. The longest serving La Sallian brother; Datuk Brother Vincent J. Corkery who taught at SMK St Michael Ipoh in the late 1950s and then appointed as Brother Director in 1971, passed away on 22 March 2016.

Malaysia is so underrated in South East Asia, 90% of the world don't even know where Malaysia is and Ipoh is totally underrated in Malaysia that even most Malaysians do not want to visit Ipoh, let alone live here. On top of that my English sucks!

Some of my suggestions if you’re in Ipoh, try to visit: - Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village - Gunung Lang - Tasik Cermin - Gerbang Malam - Gua Tempurung Next, if you’re still in Perak, you should try to visit Cameron Highlands (an hour drive from Ipoh) & also Taiping (also an hour drive from Ipoh). Taiping also was one of the historical town in Malaysia. There’s lot of good foods, the oldest museum in Malaysia and lof of waterfalls. In Taiping, you can try to visit: - Taiping Lake Gardens - Bukit Larut (Maxwell Hills) - Bukit Merah Laketown - Spritzer EcoPark - Kuala Sepetang (Portwell)

EARTHPEOPLE APOLOGY --- our comment after your last video (getting lost in KL) --- was expressed in an unkind manner. We are sorry. The same feedback --- stated positively --- would sound something like --- "we look forward to more of your offroad adventures in Cambodia, north Vietnam, extreme-northern Laos, and perhaps the Philippines --- with plenty of your cool drone shots." You may be simply enjoying Malaysian again --- to catch your breath --- and to enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation. But keep in mind that Medan, Sumatra (the world's 6th largest island) is right next door--- and a cheap flight from KL. Love and peace from the Earthpeople
