Well said . It’s exhausting listening to negative day after day, I got into this hobby as a way to relax after work/ weekends. Had my High trail K10 since it came out, love it. No issues as of yet, I drive it trailing , I don’t beat on it. I try to take care of my stuff . I also ended up with 6 trx4m , for me and the kids , run them in the house when weather is cold. 👍

Thank you Ryan! I have always had traxxas rigs and have yet to be disappointed. Great dad getting the youngsters into the hobby😁

It's ok to say you like Traxxas and support Traxxas lol. I don't think anyone questions their quality. They are great quality. I actually prefer Element platform to the Traxxas platform though. I don't care for the gimmicks on my crawlers. I still have a trx4. Never had an issue but it's the least driven rig i have. I never use any of the features when I comp or trail. Different strokes for different folks.

I will always have a sweet spot for traxxas, have had them since the 90's and they are excellent 👌 element is also a fine rig, I love my sendero simple and effective! Thanks

I just bought all the parts to build the Mashigan body. Yes, I could have paid less than $100 more and bought the whole rtr, but in my opinion, it's not a platform I want to build. You just reminded me of how versatile and upgradable the TRX is. I have three, and yes, they're all completely different animals. So TRX it will be.

Glad to help tim!🤣 a friend of mine put a rc4wd lwb body on his trx4 looks great! My next build is going to be a trx6 either a semi or military truck! Thank you

I have had zero issues with any of my Traxxas vehicles. I am not kind to them from a maintenance standpoint either. The TRX4m is the best small scale vehicle out right now also. Everything they do is well made and engineered.

So agree and when you look at durable vs price if your not fixing it all the time the price is very good!

Nice long term review. I like my TRX6 and 2 TRX4. I have the Blazer and the Tactical. I recently took my 3rd TRX4 Defender into my local hobby shop and consigned it let someone have some fun with it. It was just a display for a custom body I had done and after recent life changing events decided it was no longer needed. Now I have a couple Mini-Z for indoor fun and am about to start work on an outdoor hiking, mountain bike, RC crawler trail on our property. Fun for indoors and for outdoors.

Thank you trey! Live does happen and I hope all is well. Nothing like a home course very relaxing to build and use..... unfortunately mine is covered in snow

I would pay $600.00 for a Traxxas TRX-4, if it came with an interior, beadlocks, cleared windows, and decent licensed tires...maybe! And you're right about the Redcat Gen 8. my son and I both have the original Gen 8's (blue and orange), and they are fun to drive and work on. I still need to upgrade them both but that's part of the fun. Thank you Gerry for another great video and on point thoughts. 👍

When I built my lifted trx4 it ended up less then 500, the body's are nice but for 600 I would buy more 6x6's! Don't see enought change to get a gen 9, but I love my gen 8 and all I changed was tires😁 Thank you

@@gerrysoldguyreview 6×6's? Nice! Then again I may end up buying the TRX-4 sport kit since I love to build, who am I kidding! 😁

Well Gerry You know I am not a big Traxxas Fan. Recent Crap going on With them hasn't helped that opinion. BUT!!! I can not deny that Traxxas REALLY came out with a contender when they brought out the TRX4 it trailed well (even with the heavier Body)and then later following it up with the High trails and Ford Trucks. They (like Redcat) have been doing their homework in the last few years. Nice job bud

Thanks nick! Iam the first to admit I have had to restrain myself with some of the body's traxxas now has! They look so good!

I'm fairly new to the hobby. I was looking for something to combine with hiking and bought a TRX4 Blazer a few years ago basically because I liked the look. Have to say, it has been solid. I really don't do anything to it except for run batteries through it, make sure things are snug, lubed and clean it. I usually run it around 4 miles twice a week year round. I live in Michigan so it sees snow and everything in-between.
@gerrysoldguyreviewАй бұрын
Nice to meet you! I started also in Michigan mainly running walking paths. We have some excellent hiking trails here in alaska and my trx4's have run many. See my point exactly you take care of yours and iam sure it will serve you well for many years to come.

Great review and my favorite is your original quad cab truck. Great build on that one. Also love the Hell's Belles shirt. They put on a fantastic show. We get to see them in Astoria, OR.

Thank you so much Pete 👍 love that build myself, glad someone caught the shirt and has enjoyed the band!

I completely agree! I started with traxxis because it was a local shop. First was the t-max then E-max then the slashes and got the defender which i have hundreds of trail walking miles on it and it drove out every time completely stock except wheels. I built the trx sport kit a few years ago but haven't drove it. Now the x-max ,trx4m so on lol. I have to say the defender has been my favorite tho it was very innovative at the time with locking diffs and two speed. They were setting standards and making other companies step up the game. No body can deny they created a huge change in the rc world. I also have several Axialis and other brands,basically I have way to many 😂
@gerrysoldguyreview7 ай бұрын
No such thing as too many tim! Ok your right I also have too many! I feel most things traxxas has come out with has been cutting edge in one way or another!

Traxxas are solid, reliable vehicles, ive had them for years and years, a trx6, 5 trx4s, not a single issue with one of them, all heavily upgraded, absolute solid trucks, also have a x maxx, thats pretty solid too, I will continue to buy traxxas, its a buisness at the end of the day, if anyone rips off any buisness, they will come after them in court, rokex are notorious for it, yet they sell like hot cakes 🤷🏻♂️

Nice review. I personally love Traxxas rigs. I put SSD's portal delete kit in my 79 Bronco Trx4 and the stock 27 turn didnt last long without the gear reduction but thats expected. Otherwise my Traxxas stuff has been flawless. I love my RC Hauler and I want to snag the F150 High Trail. Supporting your Local Hobby Shop is the best route for everyone in my opinion. Keep them open before theyre gone. Thanks for the video.

I’ve always had bad luck with traxxas, I do mud and go in water every ride, my diff servo went the 3rd ride, and steering servo shortly after, and now the motor went I bought it about 3 months ago and don’t use it a lot, I was still very impressed with how strong the motor was and the xl5 system is def waterproof and still going however I just had to order a beating for the transmission. So a lot of issues right away, just like my last trophy truck, but still i love the rig I think it’s a great way to start cause you get to build it urself afterwards, oh my front axles has got rebuilt almost every run, which is super annoying now
@gerrysoldguyreview5 ай бұрын
I have the original trx4 and have beat it abit and have never had any issues but you can always get a lemon! Which I had with the 4th slash I bought I ended up breaking 10 parts and had the magnet break in half in the motor!
