My daughter's conure demands watching an anime show called, "One Piece." If they put something else on he screeches until they shut off the TV. When he is quiet they turn it back on. He turns his back to the TV and refuses to watch. It is hilarious.

When a conure bops its head it means it wants to play
@petanything3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes. It can also mean it just wants attention, or a treat. Trello will often bob his head in the direction of something he wants me to give him, or someone he wants me to put him on.

I got my conure a few months a go and I wanted to keep his wings clipped, but he can't really go where he wants to go, so I am letting them grow out, how long do you think it takes for them to grow out again?
@petanything3 жыл бұрын
Just because a bird's wings are clipped, that doesn't necessarily mean that it can't fly. I used to have a budgie that I could not keep from flying, no matter what I did. I have clipped Trello's wings before, for his safety (or so I thought at the time), and it didn't take long before he figured out how to compensate for the clipping that I had done, and fly again. Eventually, I just figured 'what's the point?' and I stopped doing it. That said, this may not be the case for all birds, and depending on how you clipped your bird's wings, and your bird's determination, it can vary from bird to bird how long it takes. But it could be a few weeks to a few months, depending.
@CrypticOfc3 жыл бұрын
@@petanything My conure isn't that old and it's wings were clipped when it was young, so he/she might not even know how to fly.
@petanything3 жыл бұрын
@@CrypticOfc My Trello was the same way. He was only 5 months old when I got him, and his wings were already clipped. He figured things out. Again, your bird is not my bird, so I can't predict anything. Just trying to give you hope.

What's the head bob he does where he jerks his head and spreads his wings?? My Poe does it and I can't figure out why! But it always seems aggressive and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong
@petanything3 жыл бұрын
In Trellos's case, it's more of a communication of "I want you to pick me up." Trello always wants to be with us, but when he steps up, he tends to get so excited that he grabs too hard with his beak, and it hurts. Once he's on you, he's fine and non-aggressive. It's just the step-up part that can sometimes hurt when he's this excited. That's why my wife doesn't pick him up.
@ShilohVoodoo3 жыл бұрын
@@petanything oh okay, I did talk with some other bird owners since I can show videos through fb and they said basically he loves me so much he wants to vomit for me
@Justadonkey3 жыл бұрын
@@ShilohVoodoo Yeah he sounds like he decided you're his Pair-bond. That's a beautiful thing too but means you obligated to give him a significant amount of love. Birds are such pure but fragile creatures, both physically and emotionally, and they live a long long time and most mate for life. If he sees you as his mate and circumstances separate you he would be heartbroken and might even stay that way for 30 more torturous years...

@petanything3 жыл бұрын
It might just be an attention think. If you and your bird have a good relationship, then it may just want your attention.
@Aylysh3 жыл бұрын
It wants to feed you. That is what birds do when they feed their babies. It's called regurgitation and it's a sign they love you and care for you.
@julieroberts4323 жыл бұрын
A lot of times a bowing motion is a mating ritual. Especially from males.

@jameswitcraft70383 жыл бұрын
I have 3 birds and choose natural everything to be safe but my question is how does this give them arthritis?
@pokechubirdie66543 жыл бұрын
Dowel perches have no variation in size and texture, the birds just stand on the same thing throughout. The dowel perches offer no exercise for their feet, and since birds are used to standing on normal wood in the wild, having a perch like that can cause a lot of problems for their feet since their feet are always in the same position. That'll be what leads to arthritis and even other conditions, like bumblefoot.
