Trent, I want to say that I am 46yrs old. I own a little health store on the US territory island of Guam (originally a Kansas farm boy). I've always liked the idea of flying. After watching you and Mike Patey (and a few other guys) over the past few years has given me a passion to FINALLY go for it and get my pilots license. I found a Japanese instructor with a 172 and I'm scheduled to start in two weeks. I've decided that I want a Kitfox with pontoons so I can hop the little islands and go snorkeling. I just want to say thank you for helping me realize I'm not too old to learn to fly.

Thanks for making videos that allow me to live my dreams of aviation vicariously through you (and the other Flying Cowboys)! My grandfather (Owen Black) used to take me up in his Cessna back when I was a teen and I reminisce about the good old days of flying with him frequently! An engineer friend of his (Neil Brutsche) designed an all metal ultralight called the "Freedom 28" and my grandfather built it for him. They took it to Oshkosh and won some awards with it 😎. Unfortunately they've both passed on. Grandpa passed while I was on my last deployment to the middle east this year and that's when I stumbled upon the videos that you and the Flying Cowboys have on KZfaq. Long winded comment. .. but I just wanted to express gratitude for your content and the quality thereof! Thanks again for another great video (distraction 😎)!

Man with Osh 20 cancelled had to come back and watch this journey again. Love the low and slow flying with your Kitfox Cowboy crew. But I'll stick with my C-TR182 RG. We fly way up in altitude where it's smooth and cool. From San Antonio to KOSH is 7 hours of flying, and of course we have to stop once for fuel typically in MO. Making it an 8-8.5 hour day. My lady and I prefer to be up nice and high, and kick the O2 on. Last year when we flew up it was 42-45 F, super comfortable and smooth at altitude with gorgeous views. S-tec 55X AP flying all enroute made for a very nice day of flying. Hopefully we can meet ya at Osh 21.

Thanks for the ride! Haley, Trent obviously loves you. But, you must have a talk with your fear of heights. The three most useless things to a pilot are 1)Sky above you 2)Runway behind you and 3)Fuel in the truck. Altitude is your friend. Higher up is cooler, potentially smoother, faster, is more fuel efficient in cruise, is more free of obstacles and gives a longer glide distance offering more choices for a soft landing at a given moment. That's a lot on the positive side of the balance sheet. I think your experience might allow for more confidence in your pilot's discretion when choosing altitude. Self confidence comes from doing things that are difficult. I hope you have even more fun next year. Maybe you can do some of the flying.

What an adventure! Was alot of fun to watch. Thanks for sharing, Trent! I think I'd gladly trade some bumping in the thermals to driving any day. The wife and I drove 2.5 days in my Silverado from central MA to NoCal, driving in shifts, back in '13. "Sucky" doesn't even begin to describe that one! Nice to see the country, but the traffic and idiocy on the roads these days is reaching epic levels of stupidity ... I need an airplane!! 😁
