Trespassing Nighthawkers FAILED to Find this GOLD COIN

We haven't hunted this farm in 2 years. Unfortunately Nighthawkers have been. Not only did they leave open holes, but they also left trash behind. All of these things go against everything we preach and practice. Luckily they missed some great coins and relics. Including a GOLD COIN!! If you're going to enjoy the hobby of metal detecting, DO IT THE CORRECT WAY!! Always obtain permission from the land owner, take trash out with you, and leave no trace behind. You're going to ruin it for everyone. This is a beautiful and historic property. It deserves respect.

I have the same problem on my Indian artifact sites and fishing holes! They sneak in, without permission, then leave it trashed! Usually pretty easy to get permission if you just ask, many now keep everyone out cause they don’t want to deal with it! My dad used to say; “ pick it up even if it’s not yours! ALWAYS leave It better than you found it!”

Amazing how gold holds up so good in dirt over time. Coin was there over 150 to 160 years or more as it was barely circulated

Bugs the shit out of me, too, when I see Sunday 'hawkers' digging in my Amish neighbor's planted fields...there is a blanketed NO PERMISSION on their fields to begin with, but digging in planted fields on Sunday when they are at church is both sneaky and disrespectful.

Congrats to the "Muckster", that is a "BEEPING" beautiful gold coin! On a second note here, I am on my way this morning to a private permission in Sisquoc, CA. that has never been hunted. It goes back to the 1800's where the old rail road went through. Has remains of a small wooden shack still on the property next to the main road. Can't wait to beep it. Will let you know!
