The fact that he’s still allowed to fly is absolutely bonkers to me. There are people who have to fight tooth & nail to get their medical, but yet the FAA is totally fine with this bozo flying.

When I was a child, back in the 70s, my father owned a 1946 Taylorcraft and he would take me flying in it. It ignited my love of aviation and ultimately led to me finally owning my own small plane (not a Taylorcraft, but there's one very similar to my father's old plane parked a couple hangars away from my plane). Watching that plane die in Trevor's video, especially knowing he did it deliberately, was almost physically painful.

That's one way to go through life. While doing so may be admirable, it isn't necessarily. It can also set up a situation where you have no remorse for another's loss or worse still; destroying what someone else has created. It just doesn't work that way, crashing an airplane on purpose or on accident is not a crime, so they can't take his pilot's license away for that. Now if he fails a biannual flight review then, then his license is temporarily suspended.

From the perspective of a pilot: The fact that he decided it would be okay, under any circumstances at all, intentionally crash an airplane without the proper safeties in place and approval from the FAA, demonstrates a complete disregard for any kind of aeronautical decisionmaking, which is a core trait of any pilot and it taught to you from the minute you start your first ground lesson. Secondly, your duty to protect your crash site until the NTSB can investigate is also taught very early on in pilot training. That is a massive massive no-no. Not only should he have his pilot certificate permanently revoked, he should also likely be facing a few years for the criminal obstruction.

The vlog style videos are the type of content I tune in for primarily (and wing and motor reviews), but I'm also up for other types of shenanigans, flying with friends and the occasional oddball product-based vids (lilke the pizza-in-the-sky one, for instance). Maybe sometimes even just flying without feeling like you have to say anything. And I'll keep tuning in as long as every now and then you do a vlog. In the end, you do you, make the content you want. This is your platform and you get to choose your focus. All I'd suggest is not aiming for views alone, but thinking a little about making content that you care about, speaking to the people you want to reach. That way it'll always be "real".

Those were professional pilots, so losing the license for a year impacted their livelihoods. Also, they did their stunt over an area of empty desert, with people on the ground making sure nobody entered that area. They also didn't try to cover up what they did, which is what Trevor Jacob actually got sentenced for. I think he should also have been charged with reckless behavior, maybe it would have been too much work to get a complainant from any of the people in the campsites or forestry buildings in the immediate area where he jumped out. But that's the real difference for me. The Red Bull guys didn't put anyone else at risk. Trevor Jacobs left it up to blind luck whether his plane hit an empty hillside, or a camp site or forestry building.

@stephenkeen6044
@stephenkeen6044 6 ай бұрын
Hmm... not so sure about the "grab-n-go" aspect, as you shouldn't leave them fully charged, but have to charge them up just prior to flying (takes a number of hours), so you have to plan it out (and sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate and you have to then run the battery down to "storage" level again without flying). I'd argue a two stroke is more suited to spontaneous flying. Definitely less maintenance and probably higher in-flight reliability, though.

smaller wings are WAY faster. Tucker is 28yrs old and likely near his peak age for physical condition. He is also a skilled pilot. Some of us are a little older and cant run with 80lbs strapped to our back, as well. I suggest to start big and work your way down. Eventually you will find a size that is as fast as you care to run. I prefer medium to larger wings. I dont see much point in flying much faster and burning much fuel. Of course, im past my prime by a bit as well. I also tend to fly from higher elevations with minimal room. Too small a wing and climb-out takes too long. Slow climb-out means tree-bait, out here.

Those 3 know more about about 2 & 4 strokes than anyone. Especially Honda who stood around for years before getting into dirt bikes with light weight 4 strokes. Can you imagine how far that technology would be today? Keep up the good work. Loved the paint bomb T's. BTW, taken any cute Ladies airborn?! Peace, zwooop!

Ever thought of using one of those battery heated coats? I have a friend who uses one all the time at work and powers it using a drill battery. Might be nice in the sky?

Tips for the coffee making: - Try to not tilt the jug so much when steaming, it helps to get a better spiral motion going. -When pouring, start slowly from up high to mix everything together forming a consitent brown color on the surface -Stop pouring when the glass gets about half full and bring the spout of the jug as close to the surface as possible -Pour faster allowing the foam to sit ontop of the coffe -Keep pouring in one spot until the glass is almost full then lift up high and quickly strike a line through the middle And there you go, you should have a heart ontop and a silky smooth coffee

6 months at club Fed isn't that bad, I was in there with someone doing six months for possession of an eagle feather. I know the shame is people had like 20 years for drug conspiracy but a child molester only gets 6 to 8:months. Our system is broken

Yes please test the electric paramotor, because I think this would be the gamechanger. After all I would enjoy paragliding but the noises would ruin it and also it would be much more accepted by the inhabitants of the land you fly over.

Tucker, a lot of people watch your videos to live vicariously through you. 1: because we don't live in the States 2: because we can't afford to do it 3: because we are too old to take up a great sport 4: because we have not got the bottle. Live long and prosper young man, from a UK fan.

Dude, try a full face motorcycle helmet with visor for cold days. I use mine on my boat and dirt bike in winter. Basically like having a car just for your head. Nicer flip face helmets have a big cushioned seal that will seal to your neck. Put a helmet sock on first so your neck is warm. I can ride on the highway down to about 20 degrees, it’s just not very enjoyable.

I think Trevor Jacobs should've gotten more time in prison personally, but I'm not too upset about that. What I'm more pissed off about is him being allowed to get his pilot license back and fly again. Just sets a bad precedent really. As for Tucker's videos, I suggest doing both. Sure, Vlog videos might not get you the most views, but it can be a nice change of pace really for you and us. Doing nothing but chasing views is probably going to stress you out and drive you to quit being a youtuber.

eh, I'm inclined to believe the FAA has access to more information than you or me. If they decided this guy can fly again, it was probably at least based on some mitigating circumstances. People are acting like he crashed a plane into a building. He did his stunt in the middle of nowhere, with a plane filled with water in the fuel tanks, and trimmed the plane down. Yeah it was incredibly stupid, but it didn't endanger other humans, and I think that's what the FAA is really concerned about. He probably demonstrated he took every step to make sure the plane didn't fly off into the sunset. Maybe they're banking on him making an apology "don't do what I did" tour after he gets out of the slammer.

@@moonasha Problem is that if he is stupid/greedy and does a stunt like this again for the views (there are people that are that stupid) and it'll make the FAA look like idiots. I personally feel that a guy being that stupid to crash a plane for views should not be allowed to fly again.

But I doubt he will. People do learn. Sometimes people can make big mistakes but at the time have felt like it wasn't a big deal because they're in their own little world. But they can learn and change.@@urazz7739

From my understanding, he still could be charged with the actual plane crash, but it would have to come from the California prosecutors or some other agency. What he pled to was only his action after the crash.
