@@fezzik7619 The country had 11 official languages, different dialects and accents within each of its 9 provinces, hence my surprise of them guessing one of the many South African accents. Many people do tend to confuse some of our English speakers with the New Zealand, Australian or England English accent. Hope that helps.

In SA 🇿🇦 we speak English and for English speakers from UK it's easy to make the distinction between SA, AUS, NZD accent. and I suppose anyone can spot a US English accent.

I have heard people say Russian sounds like you are speaking backwards, way before Russell Peters ever told that joke. Even in middle school, there was a trend that happen for a short time when kids would try speaking English backwards to sound Russian... it likely was a line in a movie or something that started people doing that, or maybe it was an early internet video.

Trevor Noah took over as host of the Daily Show on Comedy Central here in the US several years ago. He replaced Jon Stewart. He also does stand-up, and he is a terrific stand-up comedian. He is South African.

There are other comics that also do the same Russian sounds like backwards speaking bit. Russel Peters also did this bit though I'm not sure who did it first. Also, it's definitely parallel thinking because it's really a rather obvious observation.

The Japanese language is scarry to me only because of all the movies! Whether soldiers in war movies, Yakuza gangsters, old time Samarai, or running in terror from Godzilla. There’s only been Mr Myagi that has softened their reputation!

Good job guys on guessing he was from South Africa very well done and I'm American so I would have thought he was British too but you guys can tell the difference between English accents which I think is absolutely fantastical. Excellent job!! Good reaction!! I've been following Trevor Noah for a long time he's an incredibly talented comedian and a good person overall he's also the host of The Daily Show which is a legendary show on Comedy Central and that's probably where you guys have seen him before. Yes, Russell Peters did accuse Trevor Noah of stealing jokes but Trevor Noah really didn't steal Russell Peters jokes it only seems that way because they're very similar comedians both of them are international comedians they both do a lot of shows overseas Russell Peters has been doing it slightly longer than Trevor Noah so I think that's where the confrontation comes from and that's why the joke is very similar but anybody would come to that conclusion about the Russian language 'cause I thought of that myself and I'm not even a comedian.

Trevor Noah now hosts the Daily Show which is a very political show. You'll likely see more dislikes on his reaction videos b/c of people with opposing political views i.e. Trump Supporters. Russian accent does sound harder than the language but I think the language is still tough sounding. And yes Arabic always sounds so aggressive, and also to me is the ugliest languages. You shouldn't have to be an immigrant to be able to joke about it more, but in reality it helps yes...

Nah, I don't like comedians like Peters who try to claim jokes that were common jokes everyone told in school 40 years ago. Next he'll try to claim a joke about why the chicken crossed the road or knock-knock. Lame. When you tell an old joke, the only new humor you are adding is HOW you tell it, but only a lame ass tries to claim the joke as their own.
