Just invested in a few packs of these, the aero pulleys, termalinks and the kicker bait clips rather than the roto ones. Quite often use pulley rigs myself too, although when i get around to tying them i think I'll still be using beads either side of the slider👍

Just picked up fishing again after a 20 year hiatus. Just watched a trident rig set up and the versatility is incredible. Super informative video that helped knock some of that 20 year rust off my knowledge. Thanks very much. I'm just starting to fish the rough ground around the Whitby area, having not fished from the shore for 30 or so years (charter boat ownership prevents it most of the year). Hi Mark, i have used the roto and aero pulley for about a year now. i really like them .I use them for spurdog in the deep scottish lochs clear water so no real problem with sand blocking and jamming components. i have never had the roto fail to release. I use 80 lb mono throughout . snood is about 2.5 to 3 ft long with 6 inch of biting length wire. hook sizes 4/0 to 6/0 in pennel . I do use small beads as a buffer and 3 large lumi ones above the hook. bait is squid and mackeral cocktail lashed on tightly with bait elastic. I add an oval lead link to the roto prior to tying onto the rig so i can clip on the lead easily. I set the wires on the lead very tightly and as the spur runs and pulls the slack in the pulley rig it acts like a boltrig when it hits the end of the slack and generally hooks the fish right in the lips. i have been out 3 times this month and in good conditions managed 17 spurdog 4 thornbacks 2 codling , 2 lsd and 2 whiting. 4 spurs were double figures and several more 8 to 9 lbs I had my pb spur of 15lbs 2 oz 2 weeks ago. i find the aero pulley does not kink the rig body after a fish or two. unlike with a pulley bead or large swivel 1/0 which i used to use. In fact my repeat order from trident arrived 2 days ago so i do rate them and they stand up to big fish in deep water. keep up the good work GG

I use it without beads, but use a few mm of silicone tubing over the knots at either end to protect them from the pully. Works a treat, pb bullhuss of 12.2 from the rocks on a 3stranded 40lb amnesia hooklength snelled to a bronzed 6/0 did the business:)

This is the second trident pulley rig video I watched, nicely explained Mark. Could not believe the prices when I looked at the trident website, quickly ordered a set before they realised how low their prices are...lol. Even the shipping was only £2.95nor so. Can't wait to build my rigs with the components.

Had a good couple trips out lately. Used this rig but a bit longer and caught a beautiful 6lb to 6.5lb in weight(2 other fish were caught also) of the cardiff barrage.

My trident kit arived today and I am very impressed with it. Can't wait to use it on sunday😀 only thing I do different is that I put a termalink on both ends and a swivel on my snod.

Cheers Mark..in the Bristol Channel I use pulley rigs. Shorter ones for the cod/whiting and much longer for the summer rays. On big tides I go to the up and over due to the tide race. Never used trident. I’ll give them a go👍🏻

Another great video Mark, explained well and good close up shots. I used the pulley rig for the first time the other day and I was amazed how well they work. i like the look of the Trident gear and will give them a go next time.

Great vid mate, when I make my pulley rigs I normally tie the termalink on the rig body first then measure out using the arms apart method then cut my line

Love the Videos, especially workshop ones! I personally think Trident tackle is amazing, its different to other brands and as you said its really competitively priced. Had no problems at all with it and like you I think the Terma links are amazing. Plus, who doesnt love the chance to do a colour coordinated rig 😉

I love the pully rig but have gone off the airo pully!!! I find it slows the dropping of the snood too slowly and it tends to get tangled up. Much prefer the gemini pully or just a standard pully beed. Love the other trident gear (roto bait, terma links) bigtime.

Yesterday using the trident pulley rig I did not use ditachible hook snood and down penarth I caught a 2lb12oz codling

Yet another great and informative video 👍 Having just been able to get out and try the trident bits I have, on a trip to chesil (cogdon) and the Bristol Channel (Severn beach), my feeling on the aero pulley is its a little “stiff” if a bit on sand/mud gets into the small hole, and the roto bait clip got clogged with fine sand/grit making realise a hit and miss affair. But given the benefits of cost and staying clipped during an off the ground cast I can definitely see myself using these for ruff ground venues,

The breakaway proper pulley does away with the pulley bead . Clips directly onto your shockleader ,

Morning Mark, there are some great products on the market these days and it’s always worth trying new kit. Like you I have used Trident gear and have found it to be excellent quality at a reasonable price. I still use the termalink but have moved away from the rest. The pulley seemed like an excellent idea but I found that in the Bristol Channel it twisted the rig up, I have reverted to the Gemini pulley bead and Gemini splashdown for hook release. I guess it’s down to personal choice. Great vid. Pete

My rigs are almost identical to yours, to be honest I do much prefer the Gemini pulley bead. I couldn’t agree more on the price, certainly cheaper than Gemini and others but not cheaply made, quality products at a great price. 👍

Hi Mark great vid. I'm a great fan of the pulley rig. I've been making these with the Gemini pulley bead and splash down lead. I've recently ordered some Trident kit and am eager to try it out. I particularly value the hint about using a narrow ended sinker over a flat back type like the Gemini splash down. I can see the potential for the rota clip to be impaired.

Especially on up and over rigs but haven't really considered trident for my pulleys... Think I still prefer imps for hook release but I'm definitely going to give terma links a try... Look a lot simpler to use

The knot sounds like a double surgeons knot the difference is you do four turns first time and only three second time

I like making my own panels rigs and my one up one down rigs seem to work better than the pedal sometimes can be a bit snagging in some of the spots I fish I just make basic ones don't want to spend so much on tackle and it removes a lot I've never once bought a lead in my life

I've had my hook link unclip itself after a bite using the terma link, so I've lost confidence with them.

Unsure if comments/questions on old vids are read but I will givr it a go. Built a few of your rigs now (great tutorials btw) and caught my 1st smoothhound yesterday. It was on the trident pullley rig. However my question is this. On each reel in the snood was well and truelly twisted around thr rig body. Concerned it may not release correctly on the cast. Any advice to stop this? TIA.

So spent the day doing some research and watching loads of KZfaq vids. I really like the look of the New to me Trident bits - but Old to you lot now. One question with there pulleys is there any more friction as its kinda a figure 8, do you lose bite detection ore is it not so noticeable?.

Another great video mark I have been thinking about the termalink I use the Gemini link at the moment what is the diameter of the termalink I was not sure if it will fit through the tip rings on my imax rods

The Trident Pully is flawed, I think all of thier other products are fantstic and genuinly better than equivilent products on the merket. I have used the pully plenty of times and can confirm that sand abbration does damage your line where the pully functions. I have also reeled in to find small item of debis in the pully preventing free movmnet of line through the component. Its that simple.

Is there any specific reason why I can't pass the line through the aero pulley just once instead of the cross over. I don't use pulley rigs very often probably only when my son take me to the Chesil. (Going over is easy but coming back I struggle) or the Bristol channel.

If you fish the Bristol channel make your pully rigs a lot smaller mate with smaller components if not you will lose the lot and rotten bottom rigs mark

love that rig. BUT, i dont un derstand the reason for the mainline termalink - swivel - pulley. I have only a swivel on my mainline, and clip the pulley in?!
