Three things. 1: I LOVE how well Giovanna and Rei work as a team, especially how Rei moves to balance Giovanna in her f.S and 2S, as well as moving behind her opponent to act as a cushion after Giovanna flings her opponent in her ground throw. 2: I can’t decide whether I like her outfit better with or without the suit jacket! 3: I bet she has a really loud, boisterous laugh.

the cool thing about every character getting a vocal theme is that we get the development of the series veterans spelled out in some rockin' tunes and we get the first in-depth look at the newbies here in Gio's theme, we have "Goodbye! Never will I see them again, nor would they want me to", the insisting on "not making a big deal out of her" and "don't be curious about me, I don't want you to get hurt" in general, a lot of quotes that hint toward this Giovanna, with her laid back and forgetful self, being some sort of mask to hide from some unknown messed-up past also if we're to assume this song is directly her thoughts and perspective, the "Splash splash splash" bridge sounds like something a dog would be on about, like Rei, so maybe they share a mind? whatever Rei *is* i'd say it tracks, and it might be part of why they can essentially fuse to make Gio more powerful i'd love to see where future games take her character, and any of the other series newbies (Goldlewis especially) maybe i just like analyzing stuff too much, it's fun lol

This entire soundtrack is filled to the brim with hyper specific 90's to 00's Rock 'n' Roll vibes that I didn't realize I was hunting for in my music lately, lol. Giovanna's theme has such a Beastie Boys, Hendrix, Foo Fighters "Just vibe or fuck off," feeling to it. Just a solid S-Teir soundtrack.

I instantly recognized it as a Lobo Guará. Despite it being green instead of red, all the main features are there. It's also very cool that the Japanese devs recognized Brazil beyond the Amazon and chose a creature from the Cerrado instead. That's like peak representation done amazingly right.

Y'know coming back to this song after a while...it really does seem like somebody did something to Giovanna without her consent, and that somebody is still very dangerous to anyone who would go digging for information. However, Giovanna has made peace with whatever change was enacted on her, and just doesn't want any more trouble for anyone else. ...Which leads me to think Rei is maybe a forbidden beast after all. The way it's all presented, she has every reason to be upset, but CHOOSES not to be. Which means something about her situation has some pretty strong downsides.

I think I get a similar read. Rei could very well be something similar to Eddie, but is just okay lounging around being lazy with Gio, and Rei was somehow Weapon X'd onto Gio. Though I'd never considered the idea that she actively chooses not to be angry at whomever attached Rei to her.

People keep saying that this theme was based solely on Sabotage by Beastie Boys, but I'm pretty sure it is more than that I feel a BIG Manguebeat energy from that. From the punk influence to Hashimoto's unique vocalization/vocal flow, it is really similar to Chico Science & Nação Zumbi's music. Giovanna might be the first Northeastern Brazilian character on media, considering that Sepultura also bases their music on Manguebeat even though they're from Minas Gerais.
