To celebrate the recent release of Paramount's Knuckles TV Show, let's talk about a Sonic game where he serves as a major antagonist!
I know I'm a week late to the intended release date of this video, but we're here anyways, and that's all that matters.

*Not gonna lie, i kind of miss when they used to try to work in the special zones into the lore as another dimension.* And Im glad they brought back Fang after all these years with Superstars. Was a surprise to see him again.

Honestly Fang's return was so hype for me, I'm not gonna lie to you. I loved him in the comics, and his portrayal in Superstars was stellar. Really hoping he sticks around for a while.

When pertaining to the Sonic Spinball/Triple Trouble thing. I actually came up with something interesting that I VERY RECENTLY thought of. One of the manuals (probably Japanese) of Sonic Spinball, describes the plane seen at the beginning of Spinball. It said as 'A plane piloted by Tails' What I find interesting is that the plane looks NOTHING like any of the other planes in the series. Since Tails is the one often making planes, it's fairly reasonable to assume Tails made that. What's important is that once it was hit by Eggman's base, it reacts as it's badly damaged. Compare that to the Sea Fox, that can attack, and fly in the sky (seen in Tails Adventure) it's also around this point un the series that we canonically see Tails' mechanical prowess. It makes sense to me that a regular plane, precedes the creation of the Sea Fox.

It's an interesting theory. The plane in Spinball definitely isn't the Tornado, the one plane we know for sure Tails DIDN'T build, and is blue, much like the plane we'd later see him build in Adventure, so honestly that being a plane Tails built makes the most sense. What I'm not convinced of as much as comparing it to the Sea Fox in that way. Even with this theory, it wouldn't make the Spinball plane the first vehicle he built (that would still go to the Whirlwind from Drift, at least in my timeline) or the first plane Tails was shot down in (the Tornado in Sonic 2). Tails also went on to continue using non-combat-ready vehicles in later games (reusing the Whirlwind in Drift 2, which has to be after Triple Trouble due to Fang appearing). Honestly, I really like the theory. It's just missing a little something that makes it a strong contender to me; I'll have to think on it a little more. Thanks for sharing it!

Interesting defense of Knuckles, we also can't forget about SA1. Also the manual says Eggman tricked Knuckles into thinking Sonic was trying to steal the Chaos Emeralds. Probably a whole Sonic is trying to takeover the world please help Knuckles. Not sure about timeline placement since Metal Sonic was left on Little Planet and retrieved I believe Mania. Some might say STH4 but that would make Eggman retrieving him twice and it's never been stated if STH4 is still canon or has been decanonized. Some people think Triple Trouble is not canon cause it's a GameGear game. But TailsTube and the Twitter Takeover acknowledged it was canon.

Yeah, with all the talk around Fang lately, it's been made very clear that it was his first introduction to the cast. Metal Sonic is tough. If you take Mania Adventures as canon (I know some people do, especially after IDW became official canon), then that can't lead into 4. I don't think it is though, and like Mania either led into 4 or there's even screwier stuff going on. I've been wondering for a long time if Generations split the timeline for classic Sonic/Eggman, but I think Ian's been against that. I'm not sure if that's an official stance or his personal take though.

@@SpoilerGoblin I recall in one of the TailsTube they were saying it's the same Sonic, though they address aus. Also, I recall there like text saying SuperStars takes place between Mania and SA1. I know there is supposed to be a battle where is whole body is replaced but it's still the og cpu, Knuckles Chaotix. Yeah I know it's canon, but I kinda don't like that. Yeah it's cool Tangle and Whisper are canon. But when x character shows up in x game with no background and info of "read issues 600-612 to understand, and read issues 300-400 to understand that, buy them now." Exaggerating if but I think you can get that. Also, it can severely limit story telling in the comics.

Personally, I don't worry too much about all the weird stuff they made up in the early years of the series. They clearly didn't know where it was all going yet so I feel they were just kinda throwing stuff at the wall to see what stuck. I'm totally fine with stuff like sub space being quietly thrown out. lol

It sounds like that's what Sega's been doing, at least according to Ian. But I think part of the fun of a project like this is trying to find a way to make as much as possible work. It is a little exhausting though, so that's valid lol
