This video shows how to fully remove the fairings from a 2006, 2007, or 2008 Triumph Daytona 675 motorcycle. The bike in the video is my own personal 2007 Triumph Daytona 675.
This video may be applicable to other model years; however, I did not do the research to verify this information. All suggestions and steps taken in this video are for viewing purposes only. I will not be held responsible for any potential failures or problems that may arise from following the suggestions in this video.
What you will need to remove the fairings from your Triumph:
1) 5 mm Allen (hex) key
2) 8 mm socket and ratchet (or 10 mm wrench)
3) Phillips head screwdriver (small overall length ideal)
Additional Tools (not necessary for basic fairing removal)
1) 10 mm socket (for mirror removal)
2) Flat head screwdriver (for windscreen removal [on my bike; may be different for yours])
General Tips:
* Be careful when removing fairings and other pieces. They are easy to scratch.
* Keep the bolts and tabs organized after removing them from the bike. It will make the re-assembly process much easier.
* When re-installing, do not over torque any of the bolts. You risk cracking the plastic pieces or tabs.
Steps to Remove Right Side Fairing:
1) Loosen the 5 mm Allen bolt and the 5 mm Allen fairing bolt from plastic panel under the right clip-on handlebar. Remove the panel and bolts.
2) Looking underneath the bike, use your Phillips head screwdriver to remove the four plastic pop rivets by unscrewing the center of the rivet and pulling (or pushing) the pop rivet through the hole. There are two rivets at the front and two rivets toward the rear of the motorcycle.
3) Loosen the four 5 mm Allen fairing bolts on the right side fairing. The fairing will be fairly loose, so be careful not to pull on it or bump it too much.
4) Remove the four plastic pop rivets located on the inner panel of the fairing. Again, you will need to use your Phillips head screwdriver to remove these rivets. Remove the inner panel.
5) After removing the inner panel, disconnect the motorcycle's turn signals by releasing the two small clips as shown in the video.
6) Carefully pull away the right side fairing by releasing the fairing from the two tabs located in the middle of the fairing and on the bottom toward the front (attached to the small plastic piece by the radiator).
Steps to Remove Left Side Fairing:
1) They are the same as the right side fairing; however consider the following notes:
* When pulling away the left side fairing, there is an additional tab on the fuse/relay holder. Additionally, if you've already removed the right side fairing, you can also remove the small plastic piece by the radiator at this time. Also, be careful to navigate the left side fairing around the side stand as well.
Steps to Remove Windscreen (not necessary to remove entire front end):
1) Remove nut covers from the four mirror nuts. Use your 10 mm socket and ratchet to remove the four 10 mm nuts and pull straight up on both mirrors to fully remove them.
2) Use your flat head screwdriver (or other screwdriver/Allen wrench) to remove the eight windscreen bolts around the windscreen. The windscreen can now be removed.
Steps to Remove Front Fairing (entire front end):
1) Disconnect the headlight wiring harness by releasing the single clip attaching it to the main harness.
2) Use your 8 mm socket and ratchet (an extension helps immensely) to remove the four bolts holding the plastic, molded intake duct to the motorcycle's frame. Be very careful when loosening these bolts as the front end may possibly drop after they've been fully removed. It should be able to easily pull away from the rest of the bike at this point.
3) To further disassemble the front end, loosen the four bolts (cannot remember what size; I believe 8 or 10 mm) holding the gauge cluster to the fairing stay bracket. There are two bolts on each side. You can now remove the entire front fairing, windscreen, headlight assembly, and fairing stay bracket from the motorcycle. The instrument cluster will remain attached to the motorcycle.
Steps to Remove Rear/Tail Fairing:
1) Release the rider seat with your key.
2) Pull up the front of the passenger seat and expose the 5 mm Allen bolt. Remove this bolt from the bike and remove the passenger seat.
3) Loosen the four 5 mm Allen fairing bolts from the front and rear of the tail fairing as shown in the video. There are two in the front and two in the rear.
4) To fully remove the fairing, release the taillight wiring harness clips. The rear fairing should then be able to be removed from the bike.
To Re-Install All Fairings:
1) Simply follow the aforementioned steps in reverse order in which you removed them.
Voila! Now you are finished. I hope I may be able to help someone out. Thanks for watching, and ride safely!

Thank you sir. My Daytona sprung a gas leak....I figured I need to remove the fairings to access the wiring. I paused at removing the plastic tabs underneath the bike because I didn't want to pull them out by force, this video helped guide me on what I need to do. Thank you sir

Francis Balogun I don't have the bike anymore to confirm or deny 100%, but I feel pretty confident you will need to take the front fairing off.

+Fire For Effect Your best bet for ordering new rivets would be at a genuine Triumph dealership or OEM parts website/store. I have gone to both Triumph Dealerships and BIkeBandit.com to order genuine Triumph parts with success. Sometimes it takes awhile to get parts in, but once in, I don't normally have too many fitment issues.

Hey man, I've recently got a 675 and it has the same indicators as yours. I for the life of me can't figure out how they are called or what type they are, do you maybe know??

It's been a bit since I had my Triumph, but I believe they were Watsen flush mount turn signals (around $130). I hope this helps!

No, unfortunately I do not. I no longer own the bike either. I don't believe the process is too difficult, though. Just take your time with it.

I just took off my fairings on my 675R and I wanted to scream in frustration haha These fricking push pin crap, as soon as you put any amount of forward presure while trying to get the screw out, it pushes all the way back in. and those front two on the bottom, the did not want to push out at all. Im still grumpy because of this lol....

+Fire For Effect Sorry to hear of your difficulties, Fire Fore Effect. I am not certain if the push pins are the same between the 675 and 675R, but from my experiences the best way to get the screw rivets out is to hold the back side of the outer rivet (the housing for the screw rivet) with one hand, and lightly push inward and unscrew the screw rivet in the center. You want to make sure when you're unscrewing the rivet that you're not spinning the entire housing as well. A little inward pressure should be all you need to get the screw to thread out. If you're still having difficulties, you could try to very gently unscrew the rivet until you get a little amount to unscrew (enough for the head of the screw to show). At this point, you could use a small needle-nose pliers to unscrew it the rest of the way and make sure it doesn't push back into the housing. I hope this helps!

Sean Stettnichs Thank you very much, I figured that holding part out, eventually haha... but those front two facing the ground no matter what I did just didnt go anywhere >.< I had to just leave the fairing hanging and used my belt to hold it partially up while I was using my multimeter to diagnose my bike haha. I found out I had a dead cell in my battery just wanted to check whether anything else was messed up. I posted a video of the problem.

Oh nice! I'm at work now, but when I get some free time I will check out your video! I am glad you figured some of them out, but that sucks you still couldn't get the other two off. I know they aren't metal, but some WD40 may loosen up any corrosion or debris that could be trapped in or around those pins. Also, make sure they are truly screw rivets. They may be push pins instead (in that case you would push the inner portion of the rivet and then once it's pushed in, the entire outer housing of the pin and rivet both pull out together). It's difficult for me to help out without seeing the pins in person firsthand.

Sean Stettnichs They actually looked like yours but the front two are a closed loop instead of just that split design, it still had the screw like the ones that are for the plate covering the turn light wiring, the only difference is that its a closed loop. Hope I am not distracting you too much !

Oh don't worry about that! Fridays are usually pretty slow for us, so no worries, there! I don't know if there would be a different method to getting those out. Maybe you need to push them in before unscrewing them. I'm not sure. It's more difficult to understand how they work if you can't see the back side (close loop). If there's anyway you can push the pin outward while trying to unscrew it, that would be your best bet. A lot of times the threads on those push pins go bad since it's all just plastic. If there's no way to push the pin on the back side, then you may just need to buy a new pair and break the ones you have in there. At least then you'll know it's not the pins that are the problem.
