The Triumph Scrambler 900, all the fun of the T100 wrapped up as a Scrambler. Unbelievable as it is, the seat height is lower than the Triumph Scrambler 400X. That has got to please some people, short or tall. Although I haven’t taken this off road, because of the low seat height, it made me feel like I could, so easy to get a good foot holding and keep the bike stable for those hairy moments you have off-road. A lovely bike to ride on the road too. But is it just a styling exercise?

I owned a Scrambler 900 for about a year. It was a incredible bike, but I unfortunately sold it because I bought into the MC industry's dream of going touring on a real touring machine, a dream that didnt quite come to be. Should just have kept this. Had all I really needed.

And Mr.taym rides again! Another nice motorcycle. So many choices in looks, power and experiences. I think, only by making a good testride, like you do, you can feel if the motorcycle does it for you. So indeed the sixt sence. I am so happy, after 40 years riding i choose the underpowered little classic 350. Cannot stop smiling. For every rider is that different. That is why i love every motorcycle. Thanks taym. And thank you for putting up my photo yesterday. My son is very proud to be on youtube, ha ha

Owned one for 2 years prior to the CL500 . A great bike that was always a styling exercise having being previously called the Street Scrambler of course , an appropriate name to avoid confusion, (particularly by the American audience !) I loved mine , only negative was the traditional Bonny weight .... I never understood why they could not have removed 20KG over the years of developing the whole Bonneville range as they are aimed at the more mature biker who would surely appreciate the weight saving.

Speedtwin 900 is 12kg lighter than T100 but T100 looks better.I'm stuck between the 2 & keep changing my mind between them.T100 got 2.5L larger tank & longer front fender & 2pot Brembo front brake as Speedtwin got 4pot Brembo front brake & lower seat & alloy wheels which I like.Tough decision & add Scrambler 900 in the mix as well🤔🤔🤔.

I got a few months to decide.A Scrambler be great bike in NZ 🇳🇿 but can only carry 1 pannier but get out to those magical places that are at the end of gravel roads.Having 19" front wheel handle the gravel roads chuck a tail bag & 1 pannier on & go moto camping.So many places in NZ 🇳🇿 with gravel roads.My old Interceptor handled the well used gravel roads alright but the less traveled gravel roads with loose deep gravel was a slow trip.A Scrambler handle the loose deep stuff sweet as & got better tyre's too & can get even better.Ideally you'd want 2bikes but that comes down to budget & also in NZ 🇳🇿 bike Registration is $500 per bike 😲🤯🤬 so alot if people only own one bike or put one bike on hold for 7-8 months of the year.A Scrambler 900 be a great al-round bike if can only have one bike & want to get out to places at end of gravel roads like beaches,rivers,water falls & go moto camping etc.Being a 900 cruise along at Highway speeds easily as well & have good handling in the wet too.

Bought one new last year and had it for about 11 months. Fantastic machine, been using 3 times a week and occasional weekend non stop, winter, rain and sunshine… and I cannot fault it. The only issue I’ve had is the engine warning light came on, took it in and it was a glitch on the anti locking brakes sensors.

I would marry a Triumph Scrambler 900 in a heartbeat. Cracking looking bike. It's a country lanes bike that can cope with potholes, mud, gravel and steep ups and downs. Can't you just see Lawerence of Arabia speeding round the lanes of Devon, silk scarf streaming? But we know what happened to him. I know someone who's got one with bar end mirrors and a custom exhaust and it's very naughty. You can hear him coming a full minute before you see him 🤭 Just needs a proper front fender.😊

Morning taym I was looking at the scramblers the other day I looked at them couple years ago when I bought my speedmaster but went for the latter one but the other day when I took my rocket in for 1st service I looked at the 1200xe I think later on towards end of year I might buy the 1200xe and load it up with most of the extras I think it’s a beautiful looking bike and would be a nice little back road scratcher for a laugh plenty enough torque to get you out of the bends and way more top end than you need with the speed limits and roads of today so another speedmaster will have to wait for another year but great video I’ll have to ride down that road you went down on my way home take care

It is a Scrambler but is more a gravel road explorer & dry dirt unless you change tyre's.I reckon it'll be perfect for gravel roads & also no problem riding long distances to get out to the back blocks.It's not a dual sports bike but do what most people ask of it as long as you remember it's not a dual sports or ADV bike.Be great for moto camping at those places that have gravel,dry dirt roads to get there great in NZ 🇳🇿.

Nice bike for scrambling through the urban jungle or the occasional gravel road . I test rode one and loved it . I did find a third ride mode ( off road ) but I seem to recall there was a special way to find it . Also you can turn off the TC which is essential for " off roading " . Not a bike for touring long distances on the road but good fun otherwise 😀.

Hi Mr. Taym. Thanks for your review. I am debating between buying a Scrambler 400X and the 900. I will use it manly on the city, as my daily commuter on heavy traffic conditions. Some weekends I will drive it on narrow, curvy, mountain roads. Occasionally, I will take it to gravel, very broken, step country roads. Ther are some interesting differences between these two bikes. The 400x has taller ground clearance; it also has inverted, longer forks; 6 gears instead of 5; tubeless tires; led lights, grill protection for the front light, hand guards, and a conveniently located USB port. The 400X also has a more informative dashboard; the seat is taller: 835 vs 790 mm. Finally, the 400X cost much less than the 900. I am only 5.6” tall, so the 400x seems a little taller for me. Assuming money is not a factor (just assuming) and given all the above, what could be your insight? Should I get the 400X or the 900? I will appreciate your input very much.

Thank you for another entertaining demo! Glad to see you ride in good weather conditions. Would you say that there are significant differences in riding dynamics between the scrambler 900, T100 and ST 900, given they all have the same engine and many shared parts? I’m contemplating getting the ST 900 for it being much more affordable than the scrambler (at least in Germany).
@TAYM
@TAYM 13 күн бұрын
Thanks CB 😁 I would say that the ST feels lighter and sharper. The Scrambler with its wider bars perhaps feels easier to balance and manoeuvre but makes you open your chest and sit more upright therefore creating more drag and wind blast at speed. For me the T100 is the middle ground, more relaxed😁 hope that helps 😁

Great look at the 900 Scrambler MR TAYM! I rode one of the 1200 scramblers, did a bit of off-road on it and was surprised how capable the bike was. I think the 900 Scrambler is really all the bike most riders would need for normal adventuring on. The ground clearance isn't the best, sure. Most riders will never need more clearance than the 900, because most riders aren't going to take a gorgeous and expensive bike into gnarly situations. I wouldn't be afraid of owning one and seeing how deep into ADV riding it could take me. A key here is that the bike will most probably be reliable, along with that it isn't too tall and that's the key to riding sane off-road tracks. I'm sure someone makes a sturdy skid plate for the bike. P.S. I usually hate the single clock set-up but really like it on the 900 Scrambler.
