A viewer of the show sent me a photo of his guitar collection last year and it kind of scared me. He chooses to hang his SGs upside down to save on space. I gave it a try and it seems to work just fine, although, it still scares me haha

Someone could make a “body claw” hanger that holds the guitar upside down, but the downward pressure of the body on the two bottom bars makes a third (and maybe fourth) bar lock over the bottom of the guitar to hold it from tipping forward. (Similar to those headstock holders that flip closed when you put the guitar on them.)

Physics! 🤓 Though, stand rash would concern me. I use leather straps if a guitar is not going to be moved for any extended periods, and avoid any kind of rubber or plastic touching the Finish if possible.

I have to agree with everyone here, I could not display the Reserve upside down lol. 10:13 this standard silverburst was the 1st one I ever saw, it was crammed in a display rack at the House of Guitars with other LP standards in the early/mid 90s. I wanted it so bad, and there was no way my father would let me trade in my black LP studio for it. I never saw one again until I went hunting online in the early 2000s for "black and silver Les Paul", only then discovering it's true name and that Adam Jones played one.

Quite the collection that it would appear get played and through the Marshall stacks no less. As for hanging that many on the wall…. I would have to pass. As others have said, if you live on the North American west coast, wall hanging one guitar would be a hard no in my opinion. Unless I’m playing it, my guitars are in the case. One tremor of any size could really ruin my day if the guitar(s)falls off the wall, or the stand or worse, something falls on it. At least if they are in the cases they have some protection. The quilty LP was sure sweet looking. Thank you as always Trogly

I wonder if that upside down method would work with a Les Paul cutaway horn.? I can't see any problem with it. With the neck stabilised with the lower bar thing, the hanger is just holding the same weight downwards as it normally would.

Salutations Austin! I would not hang my SG’s upside down like that, I would worry about the unusual stand rash as much as I would worry about them falling down neck first as well, definitely not for any of my instruments. I noticed the ES1275 has individual pickup selectors for each neck, along with the neck selector. Normally, these only have one pickup selector on the lower horn, and the neck selector up between the bridges and tailpieces. The second pickup selector is stock on the Epiphone versions of these. But those certainly look to be Gibson headstocks.
@john564holloway

I noticed that toggle switch, too. (I noticed this double neck is upright but the only double neck displayed on the wall collection is upside down.) It's standard on Epiphones but maybe he had it modified since Gibson does not have a toggle switch in that location.

I would not, because I doubt this would work for a lot of guitars. SG have short horns and pretty beefy in comparison to say an Ibanez RG where the horn is very thin. It might break off and down goes your guitar. Crashing into other guitars on the way down denting or possibly breaking them. But to each their own. In 38 years I have owned a lot of guitars, but the last 20 years I have only owned 5 and 1 Bass. It's really all I need to play just about everything I want to.

I’m not a physicist but I think the issue when you put the upside down SG on two stands, that switches the weight from being a counter balance left and right, to forward and back, causing it to lean forward. Honestly, the best way to hang a large collection is to leave enough space between necks so the body from the next row up would be offset and fit in between the row under it, all the way up. (May not work out if you have multiple body sizes, or a double neck.)

I've never taken a picture of my whole collection of guitars but I have taken individual pictures of most of them. I'd say it's rather eclectic. For example I have a 1969 Yamaha FJ230 12 string acoustic, a a rogue super strat style guitar with shark fin inlays and a Floyd Rose. An Ibanez Iron Label exotic and a R series . Those two SGs I got from you. A DBS Imperial, a Les Paul traditional pro III. A Squire Bullet FS stratocaster a Contemporary, a FS Bullet Mustang. An Epiphone J200BE. An Ovation/Applause A/E acoustic and a Silvertonebass all in all 19 guitars not including 3 additional projects that I've only mocked up one. Oh I almost forgot the one I've been enjoying that I finally got which is a Casino Natural and a Fender NA acoustic.

I had to fwd this AI script for a Les Paul Recording: Sure, I can add some transitions to make the script flow better. Here is the revised script with some transitions in bold: Hi everyone, welcome to my channel where I share my passion for guitars and music. In today's video, I'm going to show you one of the most unique and versatile guitars ever made: the Les Paul Recording guitar. This guitar was designed by the legendary Les Paul himself and features some innovative features that allow you to create a wide range of sounds and tones. Whether you're into rock, blues, jazz or funk, this guitar can do it all. Before we get into the details of this guitar, let me give you some background information on how it came to be. Les Paul was not only a great guitarist and songwriter, but also a pioneer of recording technology and sound engineering. He invented many techniques such as multitrack recording, overdubbing and echo effects that revolutionized the music industry. He also designed his own guitars with Gibson in the 1950s that became iconic models such as the Les Paul Standard and Custom. However, Les Paul was always looking for new ways to improve his sound and experiment with different tones. **That's why** he wanted a guitar that could produce both high-impedance and low-impedance signals, depending on what he needed for his recordings. High-impedance pickups are the ones that most electric guitars use today. They have a strong output signal that can drive an amplifier or an effects unit without losing much volume or treble. Low-impedance pickups have a weaker output signal that requires a matching input impedance on the amplifier or effects unit to avoid signal loss and treble roll-off. However, they have a cleaner and more balanced tone than high-impedance pickups. Les Paul also wanted a guitar that could offer various sound-shaping options such as phase switching, tone filtering and decoupling. **To achieve this,** he worked with Gibson engineers to develop his own low-impedance pickups and circuitry that could achieve his goals. The result was the Les Paul Recording guitar series that debuted in 1971. The Les Paul Recording guitar has a mahogany body with a carved maple top and a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard. It has two low-impedance humbucking pickups with plastic covers that look like P90s but sound very different. It has four knobs: one for volume, one for tone (with three preset positions), one for decoupling (which allows you to isolate each pickup from the other) and one for phase switching (which reverses the polarity of one pickup to create out-of-phase sounds). It also has two switches: one for hi/lo impedance (which activates an internal transformer that converts the low-impedance signal to a high-impedance signal) and one for bypassing (which bypasses all the controls except for volume). The Les Paul Recording guitar is not only great for recording in the studio but also for playing live on stage. **You can see** how versatile it is by plugging it into any amplifier or effects unit using either low or high impedance settings depending on what you prefer. You can also create some funky and explosive riffs using the phase switching and decoupling features. In this video, I'm going to demonstrate how this guitar sounds using different settings and playing styles. I'm going to use my Fender Deluxe Reverb amp with some pedals such as distortion, chorus, delay and reverb. I'm going to play some classic songs by artists who used this guitar such as Peter Frampton , Steve Miller , Ace Frehley , Bob Marley , George Benson , Al Di Meola , Frank Zappa , Jeff Beck , Joe Walsh , Keith Richards , Neil Young , Pete Townshend , Tom Scholz and more. **So without further ado,** sit back, relax and enjoy this amazing guitar: the Les Paul Recording guitar.

At the end of the day play your guitars, stop displaying them. What the heck is the point of staring at a guitar on a wall? When you play them they wear in and gain character and obtain a feel. I can understand hanging old vintage worn in sweetheart gear that still gets played and put back on the wall for a while. But to hang a brand new guitar on the wall to stare at it to say wow that looks like it might play good is loony. Even all the big vintage collectors love playing the pieces they own because they have a story that you’re buying with the guitar. Randy Rhoads said you need to put you’re own scratches and blemishes in that guitar knowing it’s because you played it that hard and it’s all your life’s talent and endless hours of practice wear marks. He’s absolutely correct. That’s why they’ve been making duplicates down to every scratch now. Buy guitars and play guitars. Staring at them is pointless.

Count the number of 3 Pickup Gibson Les Pauls and SGs. Oh Boy, someone has a Black Beauty Guitar Fetish. It would have been better/safer to mount them horizontally, like rifles in both directions.
