There are trolls and crybullies. Crybullies want hate speech laws to corrupt them while trolls simply use free speech to attack others.

you havent grasped the problem of free speech if you think you can boil it down to "just words", in fact you havent even given enough thought to what words are if you think "just words" is a meaningful phrase.

I am pro freedom of speech. However, this also means that if you say something that is hateful, crude, etc., others also have the freedom to respond. It does not mean freedom from the consequences of being anti-social.

Maybe whoever you talk to. There's trolls all over the internet whose main job is to get people arguing with each other, or get someone to waste their time arguing with them. So, the term does have meaning..

@@VladmirPoopN There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with the variety of dubious opinions expressed on the Internet. For example, there are hundreds if not thousands of conspiracy theories proposed to explain things. I attack these bogus theories all the time because irrationality _should_ be attacked. That's not "trolling". Yet many call it that when their cherished theories are confronted.

@@donjindra that's not trolling, that's being closed minded. Conspiracy theories are alternative views than those fed to us by those in power. Many conspiracy theories turn out to be true. You say people who disagree are labelled trolls but conspiracy theorists are doing just that, disagreeing.

@@donjindra conspiracy means to get together and make up something so that term too has been overused the same way "troll has" when conspiracy theory is when there is no truth at all just as a troll is when the attack is severe and consistent.

So a conspiracy theory is for example "if you masturbate too much your arm will fall off" not "masturbating is bad for you" which is just a question that can be debated. Similarly, a random negative or abusive comment on twitter is not a troll, as it can also be up for debate and affected by the mood of the person, used for humour or defined in hundreds of other ways and only persistent and/or targeted abuse should be classified as trolling. But as with our language people have adapted to use words in ways they weren't originally intended and with the time the definition gets further away from it's real meaning and becomes accepted as a new defintion.

Some person think you can like him or get away. They call a troll everybody who doesn't agree with their activity and has own opinion. It's disgusting you can only admire them but if you disgust them they said like it something wrong with people. Like people have not a right to share their own opinion. If you're public person it's your oblige to endure that. You can not to take applause without any critic. It's a soy generation

We walk a very thin line. I support freedom of speech, but I do not support hate. If I don't agree about something, I think it can be discussed, but not screamed down. And that is the problem with trolling. Courtesy and politeness has no room any more.

I've been called a 'troll' many times when I'm the only one discussing things rationally and calmly. The term as no legitimate use now, and it probably never did.

I think there is a difference between trolling and sending rape and death threats. Now I don’t think she deserved the time she got but yes I think threatening anyone should have consequences. And as far as the whole free speech goes I think everyone should have that right BUT they also got to be prepared for the consequences if it’s something that offends a large amount of people.
