Matthias Höfs is quite possibly one of the finest trumpet players of our time. Not since Maurice Andre' has anyone played the piccolo trumpet so fluidly and with such precision! Of course all the members of the German Brass are fantastic, Bravo!!!

Beeindruckend,als Höfs bei diesem einen Ton absetzt und sein Kollege in weiterspielt und kein Unterschied erkennbar ist.Als ob nie beide gespielt hätten.Götter auf ihrem Instrument

Das ist der Hammer. Blechbläserisches Können in Vollendung. Da ist man als normaler Hobbymusiker so weit entfernt wie die Erde vom Mars:-)

Judging by the mouthpiece size, sound and general shape I'm pretty sure it's a german Tenor horn. You know, the instrument that has the solo part in the beginning of Mahler's 7th symphony.

It's a Baritone. It's the German style, normally used in traditional bohemian music. The sound is brighter than the sound of an euph.

well, there are several "baby trrombones" the largest one is the piccolo trombone, then a tad bit smaller is the junior piccolo trombone, then comes the double piccolo trombone, and then the double junior piccolo trombone

I think you are refering to the corno di caccia. It is a very old instrument that has been recently been rediscovered.
