Mines a older model than that one i think is a 2004 but its piston was froze up and both valves and rods were rusty because someone cut off the air filter housing cover and they left it sitting in the rain so i got it all moving again the 18.5 hp intek runs good now just needs a few new tubes and plastic pieces maybe a intake manifold for the front of the carburetor to the air filter and a good used motor shroud gotta have that or another used engine just for the parts im needing Need a carburetor rebuild kit just for the little rubber gasket fits between the white piece in the carburetor when you take it apart then the aftermarket carburetor will be a good backup to keep for later so i cleaned up the original carburetor and it works good its rubber gasket inside it works i guess other people would just buy a new carburetor but i didn't have the money for one. So i done a test ride on mine it rides good but does have air leaks from it not having all the new and used parts its needing after the engine got hot oil started coming out from i think the air breather tube on the top left side of the engine cause it needs a new hose then i shut it off until i get the new stuff may have to take off the flywheel to put on the new hose

My 2004 one will be doing knee high grass once i get done replacing missing parts on the engine i may need to do a intake valve adjustment to so the old things gonna get to cut alot of field grass pretty soon and i go up and down the big hills can't go sideways its to steep to and would probably flip over on those hills i try not to chew up to thick of tree branches but finger size limbs get chewed up and blown right out.

Tim, Good video!! I bought a 2017 Bronco - great deal from Lowes - $1200! However, my local repair guy stopped doing a pickup & return to service riding mowers!! So Ive had to use the authorized Troy dealer for 2 services in 3 years - @ a cost of over $600!! Only repair was a blown electrical fuse!! If my old Sears blade bed hadn't worn out - after 15 yrs - woulda never bought the Troy!! Thx for the review & info!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. I'm between this and a cub cadet and can't decide. One thing that I've read in several places that may help you is to spray silicone on the inside of the plastic pipes that go from your deck to the grass catcher. I read it really works well and it's a cheap thing. It's supposed to especially help with damp or wet grass. Thanks again!

Thays awesome, these tractors are awesome. I have the brinco as well. It has spent its life in the garage when not in use and I only cut my own yard but I bough mine at Lowes 16 years ago. It runs perfect and uses no oil. Ive been through 2 deck belts about 4 batteries and last year the muffler rotted off. Everything else is original. It gets oil changes and filters every year but its a briggs and stratton 18.5 intek

Great video! I don't know if you've torn into the transmission yet but I have on mine. Mine had so much time on it that the actual bushings the axle rides on in the transmission wore thin so my axle had a bunch of extra play and it was squeaking because it was rubbing on the casing. Anyway I tried replacing the bushings but one of my wheels was rusted on and I've been unsuccessful so far; the project is 'on hold' because I found a good used transmission at my mower shop and put it on. Anyway, I was just gonna say regarding the ground speed that your variator pulley in the back, belts, or foot pedal may be to blame too. The pedal might have an adjustment underneath for tension which could give you more power.

How does this handle inclines like ditches? Can you mow sideways, or do you have to back in and out?

Does it work well on leaves?
