TRT World’s Oubai Shahbandar travels to the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan where hopes for peace and a finalized settlement in the Azerbaijan-Armenia conflict are facing renewed tensions that could flare into open conflict once more.
In Karabakh, we document how cities once turned into rubble because of years of neglect and purposeful destruction, are now coming to life after three decades of occupation.
Karabakh is being rebuilt as hundreds of displaced Azerbaijani families come back to homes they once thought lost as part of an ambitious “Great Return” campaign launched by the Azerbaijani government to bring life back to what was once a war zone.

Все происходила в Украине после первой карабахской войны.Нелли расстался со своим бывшим мужем,взяла детей и уехала со своей семьей в Украину.Вышла замуж за Игоря,купили дом.Прошло некоторое время, начали замечать крик ребенка от бывшего мужа,ребенок просыпался,убегал на улицу и рассказывал что во сне к нему идут много невест в белым платье и требуют своих детей у него..От этого ему становится страшно и он поэтому убегает из дома.В семье не могли понять что случилась с ребенком и все соседи посоветовали пригласить экстрасенса в дом. В дом Нелли и Игоря приехал экстрасенс Сурен Джулакян.И то что он увидел там,его повергло в шок : Что за ужасные картины мне идут! Какое-то месиво.Я не могу понять, у вас родственник маньяк какой-то"? И тут Нелли расплакалась и рассказала что ее свекор от первого брака воевал в Карабахе: первый мой свекор служил в карабахской войне,и он рассказывал мне .Он был настоящим палачом. Сурен Джулакян : На его совести десятки душ.Такое ощушение что он насиловал,убивал. Нелли : да он часто рассказывал как в Карабахе убивал беременных женщин.Нелли рассказала о том что, когда беременная была,свекор звал ее и рассказывал о том что как убивал беременных азербайджанок в Карабахе.И говорил чтобы его внук услышал все это в утробе матери. Бабушка Нелли : -" Он герой войны .Он рассказывал как они резали,как они беременных резали. Нелли : - он гордился этим. Услышанное ужаснула не только экстрасенса Джулакяна но и всех присутствовавших . "Изверг" сказал кто-то из соседей армянской семьи. И вот такими героями,убивавших беззащитных людей в Карабахе,сегодня гордятся в Армении. Да,что там в Армении,несмотря ни на что бабушка Нелли считает ее первого свекра "героем войны".Ее не смушает то, что он творил при жизни.Нет,ее лишь беспокоит то, что сегодня дух умершего бывшего родственника мешает нормально жить семьей ее внуку.Тут уж, как говорится,все слова излишни.

@@ucardanuzaqda I’m an ethnic armenian from Nagorno Karabakh and I know that not only azerbaijanis but also armenians did barbaric things during first war. One of my far relatives was fighter in the first war and I know that he killed little babies like putting them on a fire and the typical response to why they did that is so they are kind of doing revenge. I can’t imagine that I myself can do such thing but those guys were in a war and saw barbaric things done by azerbaijanis so it would be very easy to lose your mind and become barbaric too. So such things happen in wars, because there is a big chance that A soldier might get traumatised, lose his mind and do such thing BUT MASS MURDERS, NO I DONT BELIEVE THAT ARMENIANS PLANNED TO DO MASS MURDERS. it was done by the Azerbaijani opposition to be able to dethrone the president of Azerbaijan by blaming him for not being able to protect its citizens from armenians. There are videos where Azerbaijani president Mutalibov talks about it. Also there is a video where some azerbaijani reporter who was there says that he noticed that there was something wrong there and said he had videos proving his doubts but he died after. I will now try to find those videos

Yes I completely understand them but You will say this again when I go back to my house in Martakert region where my ancestors lived for thousands of years. I’m an ethnic armenian from Nagorno Karabakh. Born in Village Haterq(where my ancestors lived ) and lived in city Martakert/Agdara till 2018(When my father died). I left ancestral home in Haterq, two other buildings in the center of Haterq, left my home in Martakert where I grew up with my parents and spent the happiest days of my life, memories with my childhood friends,( some of them died in 2020, some of them in 2023), left their graves there, left all the properties including a beautiful park-restaurant for which my father worked all his life to have. Recently my grandpa died who was born in 1929 and his funeral was in Yerevan but he never thought that such thing could’ve happened because his wife’s graveyard is in Haterq, his parents’ graves are in Haterq’s graveyard.

Армянский блогер,журналист Наталья Алексанян рассказывает в ютуб канале Альберта Исакова : Я помню в то время когда Армения была страной победившей войну.Что происходило в деревнях ,армяне брали свои большие машины и ездили в Карабах на талан,заниматься грабежом,я было очевидцом,там было что возможно грабить,они грабили и знаете что было ужасное что даже кастрюли привозили. Все теперь Карабах наш и можно грабить. Я поразилась тому факту что,американский журналист прислал мне кадры,того как в Агдаме армяне просто убивали азербайджанского ребенка,расчленили его и это они сделали хладнокровно.

Funny how u mention it,but refuse to acknowledge that 1)Armenians were transferred to those lands in 1828,by turkmenchay treaty 2)Zangezur was illegally transferred to armenia in 1921 3)Rasulzade was forced to give Irevan to Armenians,during second genocide of azerbaijanis,to stop the war.

Thanks for this documentary, it is refreshing to see how it is from the other side of the conflict. Here in USA we only hear one side, and I know there is always a different side to every issue. Refreshing to see these people returning home and making these villages bust with life again. So beautiful, I would love to visit someday.

That is so strange, this visitor we see in this clip making false statements. There was never a war between Armenia and Azerbaijan (except for a minor border skirmish in 2021). The military action was always entirely within the borders of Azerbaijan, initiated by the decision of the Armenians living in Azerbaijan (Karabakh) to secede from Azerbaijan, in 1987, and that attempt at separatism launched the internal conflict. Of course, Armenia, Russia and the Armenian diaspora came to the assistance of the Karabakhi Armenians, that is to be expected, but the point is that a journalist (presumably) is making false statements that mislead the viewing public. Azerbaijan waited patiently for the international community to act diplomatically to allow Azerbaijan to regain control over the lost territories (nearly all of mountainous Karabakh and the seven surrounding districts where the vast majority of Azerbaijanis lived who became internally displaced refugees) for 30 years, then took the opportunity three years ago to reclaim their lands by military action rather than failed diplomacy. All the reports are than no Karabakhi Armenians were molested or harmed by Azerbaijani forces as they packed up and left to go to Armenia. One more point regarding balanced journalism and the situation in Azerbaijan; the Lachin corridor was closed but there was a very large Russian convoy waiting in the Agdam region to deliver Russian goods to the Karabakhi Armenians, but the leadership there refused to accept that convoy; any hardships born by the Karabakhi Armenians appears to be caused by this political stunt on the part of their own leadership.

The Armenian inhabited town of Khankendi now is 100% Armenian after total ethnic cleansing (30000 Azerbaijanis were drawn out of the town, by torture and humiliation). But it is not an Armenian enclave - this is a wrong terminology used in the report. "Armenian enclave in Azerbaijan" means it belongs to Armenia. But it does not and never has. It must not be referred to as an enclave, but a place, a town, an area as it is legally incorrect to call it enclave as is implies wrong understanding and confusion (of belonging to Armenia).
