Thank you for that valuable information about your truck. As an outsider, we normally probably wouldn't even have a clue about those things that you do on any given day as you go about your day. That is really good to know now. I'm so glad that you have put that out there for us to be aware of. Thank you so much. Tbh the only thing that I was aware of from a Trucker is how much I money I could make from him lol. Opps my bad haha 😂 that of course was only from my past experience with a Trucker at the Truck Stops. When I was a bad girl lol 😂 now I changed my ways when I became a believer, and began serving the Lord. Thank God 🙌🙏🙌

Heres another tip. If you or your company still uses Snap binders, wrap excess chain around the binder so the handle cant snap open while moving. DOT could also get you on this if they wanted too. 49 CFR 393.104(f)(3)

I had a flatdeck driver the other day wait until I pulled up in the forklift to hop out of his truck and unstrap. Could've easily had it done while he waited for me now he's putting me behind schedule. Boy was I annoyed. I agree, loading and offloading wheb drivers are still in their cab, and a lot of times I'll wait for them to get out. I'm pretty seasoned with a forklift at this point and don't need a spotter but it's still nice to have someone keeping an eye, shit happens and we all know blindspots in some of those bigger forklifts are a nightmare. I've also had drivers get out after I loaded and insist half of the load be rearranged for other customer pickups. Nope, kick rocks, you had 20 minutes to get out of your truck and tell me that.

Flatbed work was great, but when I did it I was dirty and sweaty all the damn time. After loading or unloading and getting back in the truck dirty and sweaty as hell, got old real quick. I drove flatbed in the southeast where it was hot and humid. And the company I drove for ran me ragged.

Aye had a banksman killed on a site I worked, before I got there.(I'm on Tower cranes). Managers had site take a 2 minute silence, as a reminder, construction's a dangerous caper. Banksman parked the truck, told him to unstrap. Plan changed and they wanted the truck moved so the Tower crane could unload the steel, rather than forklift. Load fell off the side whilst in transit, killed the banksman alongside.

Hey, I noticed that you don’t roll up your chains. I’m in Australia, most truckies (Aussie truckers) here have small buckets that hold one chain but some of us (myself included) prefer to roll them. I find it easier and quicker when pulling them out next time I need them.

The videos are very informative. Question about not wrapping chain around binders after you have locked them down. Please go easy on time lapsing of binding. It's an important step on load securement.
@trucking4racecars4 ай бұрын
I don’t do it but guys definitely should. Not denying that. It saves time and I’m so use to not doing it because of the multiple drop I usually have. And if you don’t bungy them they’ll be hanging 99% of the time they don’t move when I leave them on the deck.
@cecilwarren45874 ай бұрын
After you tighten the binders, what are you doing when you're hitting the chains? Helping them to settle?
@trucking4racecars4 ай бұрын
Oh! Great question! Some times depending on how the load lays out or how the beams are, they’ll make the chain link stick at the edges. So alot of times when you hit the link it will free up the slack in the chain. People not knowing that and go down the road without checking chains.. most of the time when I get to my destination all my chains are still just as tight as when I left!

Surely if you're going to take your show wagon to work, you bring a ladder for the chaps to safely get on the bed and you can get up there and sweep the cack off? If that's your trailer, there are integrated ladders on trailers, if you want them. Personally as the slinger who has to unload steel and other bits of cack off wagons, don't bring your precious show wagon to work, this isn't pebble beach. I like a show wagon, to look at. Drag a reefer around instead.
