I really appreciate the call back to her constant, almost paranoid obsession with knives pay off. She had a deep fear of larger people physically overpowered her and even while high on what ever she took, the second that guy grabs her she pulls out like 4 huge cuts that kill the guy before he even knows he got cut. If she was sober you can imagine she would have absolute gutted him. I love that.

I love how she takes out the heavy. She's drilled the targets so many times she cuts him five times before he knows what's going on. Femoral artery and worked her way up. No silly kickboxing scene. The knife shifts the balance in her favour but she is still outgunned in size and muscle terms. Luckily she did enough damage that he bleeds out before she goes unconscious.

Watching other clips from this season, it also appears to be a reference to something she said to Ray about any man putting a hand on her is going to bleed out in under a minute.

This episode aired on July 26th, Stanley Kubrick's birthday. He died before completing his last film Eyes Wide Shut which was heavily edited by WB studios before its theatrical release.

interesting when you think about what this should have been. this should have been an eyes wide shut style sex party, guys wearing animal masks, women walking around with masks on and nothing else. turkish baths, epstein island shit. this scene we got is way too sanitized and tame. pizzalotta and fukunaga flew too close to the sun with the subject matter of the first season and pressure was put on pizzalotta to neuter the second season. i believe he was strong armed in a similar manner to how they got to dave chappelle before he walked away from his show.

I would agree that this is the best scene. I can't remember any show or movie that has used the martial arts use of the knife this effectively or realistically. The dude didn't even realize what happened to him until it was too late. With her kind of skill, Ani might do okay taking a knife to a gun fight. On its own merit, Season 2 was excellent and I am kind of glad that they made it different from Season 1.

I agree, and I'm surprised to see such harsh criticism that it even made multiple 'Top 10 Worst' lists... Thing is, I've just recently discovered this series and I've kind of binged watched the first 2 seasons over the last few days, and man, even then Season 2 was reaaally hard to follow, can't imagine what it'd have been, at a one episode per week pace...

the soundtrack to this whole scene, especially before ray and woodrugh entered the mansion was so cool. at one point it kind of gave a star wars sound to it, with the orchestra and such. but the music fitted so well in the scene and was beautiful.

with all of the shit we're hearing about in Hollywood, I keep thinking about this scene. this scene was really well made. Also not calling conspiracy here but it is ironic how this show did not return after airing stuff like this. Even though season 2 wasn't great, it was still pretty good

LOL you fucking looneys. Season 3 is already filmed and the trailer is out, this season generally sucked. This has nothing to do with the real world, just like Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut wasn't trying to convey reality of Hollywood.

Wake the fuck up folks before it's too late. It's called the "American dream" for a reason; because, you have to be asleep to believe it. Not only that: How can people not know how to fucking connect dots together? Does anyone find a correlation between the media we are fed versus the events that unfold? Welp.. As they say, it's better to be insane in a 'sane' world, than be the vice-versa eh.

Although this is the best scene, another favorite of mine is when she told the deputy that she was seeing to take a hike. I felt bad for the guy because most of us have been in that situation at some point in our life, but the guy just wasn't getting it that the relationship was over. Ani was brutal with her honesty, but he couldn't get it that he was just too clingy for her and unfortunately for him, he got a huge dose of smackdown.
