My dad was always a reserved and quiet man, he never looked for trouble or retaliated; he wasn’t very affectionate with me or my brothers but we understood it, he grew up in a different era. I was bullied during middle school , my dad’s first advice was “tell a teacher, if he keeps on bullying you, kick his ass. That way when you get suspended I’ll vouch for you and said I told you to do that”. Long story short, I could never work up the guts to punch this guy back, one day my dad picks me up from school and he notices something is wrong; I tell him I want to change schools because I can’t take this anymore. The next day my dad picked me up, he parked the car near school and told me to point out my bully, I did, we waited for him to get picked up and my dad followed the car. He cuts them up in traffic, slams on the brakes and gets out of the car. He approached this kids window, told him his full name, his grade, and that if he ever fucked with me again he would stomp him. The kid’s mom tried to yell at my dad and threatened to call the cops, he said “call your husband, that way this little shit can see what will happen to him for being a bully”. My dad got back it car and we never spoke of that again, the kid stopped bullying me alongside everyone in school because the rumor spread like wildfire and I have never felt so good. My old man never said I love you but I know you did dad, I still miss you.

For all the passive description deep down you had a good father; my dad, god rest his soul, didn’t have that courage; I went to a major league baseball game and I would have had a foul ball if it weren’t for a grown man who after I clearly had it in my hand and it was mine wrestled it out of my hands; I was about 9 at the time and I told my dad that wasn’t right and he just acted like he didn’t hear me because the guy was “big”. Sad to say this but I lost a lot of respect for him that day. He couldn’t even talk to him like an adult, man to man.

I don't think you know what being a sociopath means. A sociopath would beat the shit out of that kid's dad only if it served a purpose to them. They wouldn't give a crap otherwise. A sociopath has a larger plan in mind always and will do anything to fulfill it. It's always about them and them only, other people are pawns or obstacles.
@Trip_Fontaine
@Trip_Fontaine 11 ай бұрын
@@TwiztedJugallo I admit I'm not an expert on the term, but I would say that Colin Farrell's character gets something out of this. He gets to tell himself he is a good father and is protecting his kid in ways no one else can. And I would say there are people out there with sociopathic tendencies who still have a few people they love, or at least think they love.

No one ever helped me during 6 years of intense bullying. The resolution was to send me off school after i freaked out and broke one of my bullies jaw multiple times. Now iam 34, and the thing is iam not angry about the kids that bullied me, but still in anger about all those other kids and teachers just watching, letting it happen, ignoring it, saying its my own fault. Nothing in life shaped me like that experience did, to this day. i learned as a child that most humans are either plain evil or selfish stupid cowards. no one ever proved me wrong.

The world isn't ALL evil and selfish there are people that care out there, but i suppose you could say those are more likely to be cowardly to help someone being bullied. Even so ive disproven your point. People do genuinely care but we don't hear about those cases as much only the bad ones where it goes too far and shootings happen..

Then it happened again, and my mom went straight to his mom when she was with her boy and said, "Your boy has bullied my son several times, and I reported it to the shitty principal, but she ain't doing anything. But if your son touches my son again, I will kill him and gladly go to jail. And I know who your husband is but I don't give a fuck." I was bullied quite often in grade school. Mostly I think because I was quiet and reserved. I just wanted to learn and get through school to the end and summer vacation. I never got punched or kicked but got verbally abused and pushed up against the school wall and shoved quite often. They always tried to intimidate me but I never gave in and I just fought back with logic and asked them straight up "why?" They never had a good answer because when they started talking about it, it all sounded so stupid coming out of their mouths. Sixth grade comes around and we get a new kid in our class. He was quiet and reserved just like me but he didn't get bullied. That was because he was probably at least 5 inches taller than anyone else. He was bigger than most of the teachers there. I got to know him and he had seen me get bullied off and on and he promised me that since I was his friend, no one would ever bully me again. True to his word, the first time after that when one of the bullies came to harass me he jumped right in front of me and just towered over the other guy. He didn't even have to do anything he just stared at the guy until he turned around and left. After that, school was much better and he and I became good friends. I'll never forget him even though I haven't seen him in over 20 years. That seemingly insignificant act of standing up for a friend shaped a lot of my life from then on. I have since then become much more self-confident and never have I taken crap from anyone since. I don't know exactly how my life would have ended up if he hadn't done what he did. Stand up for yourself and for others who cannot. Wherever you are buddy, thank you.

A few years back I moved my son to a new town but it was his freshman year. A month in he told me a few kids where messing with him. He's an athletic kid and I asked him if he was afraid of them and he replied that they threatened to jump him. His mother and I told him that if that ever happened and he were injured I'd track down each father, my wife would track down each mother to provide educational ass whoopings. Also told him to tell the kids we said it and mean it. My son's confidence went through the roof and he's fitting in just fine 2 years later. I think just knowing someone has your back means a lot to kids, especially young men.

I was bullied in early grade school, went to a place for troubled kids. The irony of seeing all the anti-bullying posters and teachers looking the other way because 'just ignore it' is stupid advice. Eventually I got even and they left me alone, would also go after the bullies who went after other kids. I forgave them a long time ago. The ones I'll never forgive are my parents and teachers who gave me terrible advice and never stood up for me, nor the other kids I had to protect because they wouldn't. I got in a lot of trouble for it but it's worth it, someone has to take a stand so it might as well be me. The way to deal with bullies is instant and aggressively, that's how it works in the real world.

I dont think he could say Chad Velcoro specific. Might raise some troubling legal problems for Ray in the future. Which of course it would anyway on anything but a TV show the way Ray did it would be about impossible to get away with considering dad definetly spent the night if not more than one in the hospital and made it clear it was over bullying, the whole Chad shoes thing being a week old, wouldnt take a few days and Ray would be in cuffs looking at serious time, not some misdemeanor, him being a cop would make it worse and it being retribution for bullying wouldnt fly in a court of law. Zero chance he gets away with doing it that way. He at least wore a mask when he beat the reporter and robbed him.

He had big welps..I was 16...I said mom take me there...No she says, Matt no! I said take me there or I'm driving over there with friends and not gonna be pretty. So she takes me..(the "kid" was older than I was btw) and I knock on the door..luckly the kid answers and I said hey man I'm John's brother and he wanted to apologize for something he said.. so the bully came out and I immediately started beating him like there's no tomorrow. Kid had braces so u know how that goes...I beat him for a cool 5 min until my little brother was begging me to stop. He had a string of blood from his mouth to concrete as I drag him to my brothers feet..."kiss them!" I screamed , as that's happening the dad comes out with a baseball bat and was chasing me around vehicles...when I got back home police showed up and arrested me. They looked at my little brother and his wounds and said there was nothing they could do that it would be a "counter charge" that they should have been called first...fast forward 15 years and that bully was a cop that got fired and been divorced twice with domestic abuse charges...so yeah it was worth it😂

Jason Z the problem with zero tolerance policies is that it punishes the victim. People that get beat up get punished for “being involved in a fight”. It’s like incarcerating a rape victim for being involved in a rape. Zero tolerance policies allow school administrators to take no responsibility and solve their own issues and just claim that their hands are tied.

Growing up I was bullied all throughout grade school up till 8th. No one every defended me not teachers or parents, I was alone and felt alone. During my 8th grade year I transferred to a new school an hour away from my old one. The reason was due to the Bully’s chasing me home, everything was fine for the first year and half but soon some of the bully’s found out where I was going to school at again they couldn’t do nothing there cuz the teachers cared for me this time. But one of them had an older brother who was a drunk and a punk, he took and follow my moms car to our house one day to find out where we lived. The next morning I woke up to get ready to go to school but when I opened the front door their was my bully’s, the beat me till I couldn’t resist then dragged me to my stepdad shop and broke my hand. I later woke up to my stepdad being put into a police car, he gave two of them sever concussions with permanent brain damage and the older one that could drive he broke both his arms and then fractured his spine so that he could never enjoy life again. My stepdad is my greatest hero his not perfect but that act right their proved that he would protect me at all costs.

I was bullied a lot in grade school. And as much as my parents talked to the principles and teachers it wouldn't stop. No one cared at school bc it wasn't usually physical, just psychological. One day a kid was in my face saying some really horrible things and threatening to "kick me in the nuts" over and over. I was not a violent kid and very emotional. I begged him to stop and to leave me alone. He wouldn't budge and had a cackle of other kids behind him laughing while watching this. And all the teachers just ignored it. He kept threatening me and pushing me back. I finally snapped and I threw a haymaker to his face, knocking him to the ground. I wasn't even aware of my own strength. He just sits there in shock on the ground and no one moved, they just didn't expect it. I start crying bc I really did not want to hurt anyone but I had no choice. The principal was called and I'm given a suspension until they decide what to do. Didn't hear my side of the story, I was violent so I was in trouble. My mom comes to pick me up, and as we're driving home she's silent. My mom is old school in the sense that doing well in school is more important than anything; this was my only suspension and I was afraid how she'll react if it effected my permanent record. And I'm so afraid of what she'll say. (I'm paraphrasing here) but she asks me what happened and I tell her. She sighs, and says "I'm proud of you. You had no choice". Later on we tell my dad as well and he also agrees with me. He then spends the night going over with me what to say to the principal exactly when I go back in the review the situation. A day or 2 later (short suspension) we're sitting in the office. Me and my parents and the kid and his parents. He's got a big ol black eye and I couldn't help but be pleased by that. They're clearly thinking I'm going to get shafted for this. But when the principal asks us to explain I was so practiced in explaining how it happened, why I responded how I did in self defense, and my "deepest apologies" for hurting him. I could see my parents gleaming with pride, they had to see me go through so much heartache from these kids it was great I could take control for once. The other kid was so taken aback that he didn't know how to respond. The principal decided to make it a no contest and to not have the suspension be official on our records. The other kids parents were so mad by this. Since that day I stopped getting bullied. The other kids knew what I could do and walk away from it.
@raideenj
@raideenj Жыл бұрын
I'm emotional also. Was bullied and had to take martial arts to defend myself. Found that bullies are cowards. Always felt bad for beating up someone even though it was self defense. People asked why I cried when I won a fight. I didn't understand it myself. Someone later explained it's because I knew deep down that I was hurting another of God's children and felt bad for the hate I had for them that made me hurt them. Some people have to get their asses handed to them to learn to be nice to others. The better I got at fighting, the better I got at using minimal violence. The aggressive ones saw they couldn't win and stopped their aggressive behavior. Now I just avoid situations and know it doesn't make me a coward. By the way, your parents were great.
