The saying "blowing smoke up their ass" is a reference to Victorian medicine where they would use tobacco smoke as an enema using a tube and a bellows. It was mostly used as an early form of resuscitation.

It's amazing how softly they land. On the Isle of Wight there's a place where you can can walk through an enclosure to get close with them. You're not allowed to touch them but they jump and climb all over you. They are as soft and gentle as can be and they love sitting on your shoulder like a pirate with parrot

I actually had a roommate who worked at the Duke Lemur Center. He said that every so often one of the lemurs would figure out how to escape from the enclosure, but nobody cared. Literally, 10 times out of 10, that poor lemur would show up on the outside of the enclosure within a matter of days, whining and clinging to the fence, *DESPERATE to be let back in, where it was safe, warm, dry, and they had all the sliced fruit they could eat.* I like to think that the conversation among the other lemurs goes something like this: "Oh, hey, it's Tim! Where'd you run off to Tim?" "Shut up, Larry." "Hey, look everybody! Tim's back! Say hi, Tim!" "I mean it Larry, I'm not in the mood." "What, you mean you didn't enjoy your holiday?" "I swear to God, Larry, just drop it!"

Indeed one of the cutest animals! Their eyes are amazing. I'd have liked to hear more of the sounds of the lemur, but am grateful to you for providing info about helping the lemur (as well as those "bebbie" shots, as I'd never seen a picture/film of a new, little lemur before!).

Vincent Parra there was a reddit post of some sort a bit ago saying that they hadn’t realized until just that moment (as an adult) the little piggy going to the market doesn’t mean that it went shopping but that it was going to be sold at the market. After seeing that, a lot of reddit realized that was the actual meaning at the same time.

You’re a linguistic master! Such amazing commentary and humor with the awesome plug at the end casting attention to the plight of endangered animals. I would be great to see you address big game hunters, the decimation of elephants and rhinos, the destruction of habitats, and captivity of certain species that is deleterious to their well-being. I know that gets away from your base but so many people would be enlightened. I completely understand that is probably not a direction you want to go. You do a phenomenal job showing people the beautiful value of animals in nature. Thank you for all the quality content and laughter!

@@lahlybird895 The phrase "blowing smoke up your ass" had to come from somewhere. As a possible explanation our narrator postulates that at one point someone suggested playing 'dragons' with their friends by inhaling smoke and blowing it back out. Then, someone gets a bright idea: to blow that smoke up someone's ass. Although Caleb Daily's suggestion is much more likely to be correct (lets be real, pretty much anything you can think of has been tried as a miracle cure - it's like porn that way) , I prefer the romanticised notion suggested by our friendly narrator.

Thanks for featuring my country's unique animal!! We're proud of our lemurs. We have massive protected natural forest where lemurs live freely and it takes hours of getting lost in there to find them, but it's totally worth it. And yes, they're loud AF. I wish flight tickets to Madagascar were cheaper to allow people to come visit more. Nature lovers would be taken aback by the unique animals and plants we have. As well as landscape and breathtaking beaches. Although maybe it's better to not have too much flooding tourist too :D
