The documents he did take do matter (though I suspect they were not that important), but since all presidents have done so in one way or another, he cannot be singled out. Either apply the law firmly to everyone, or let everyone off the hook.

Yes, The Federal Bureau of Investigation snuck HUNDREDS of boxes of top secret documents into Mar A Lago, placing them out in plain sight, where Trump and his staff could easily see them, and then raided the place weeks later. This wasn't six boxes. It wasn't even fifty. It was multiple HUNDREDS. And again, they were sitting out in plain sight, including in his BEDROOM. Does any of what you said make any sort of sense to you now? And no, no POTUS ever, since Trump, has INTENTIONALLY taken secret documents home and actively HIDDEN them. At the time the FBI served their warrant, Trump and his security detail were in Bedminster. Trump spends the summers in NJ and winters in Florida. There was no one at his Mar a Lago residence to notify

The public confessions of intentional retention and obstruction by the defendant himself, removes any valid defense. Building a special room so the defendant could mull over the lost cache of documents was an additional cost and delay. The case is straight forward. That it was done in furtherance of the insurrection that did result in deaths and injury, incarcerations and damages and admitted attempts of election subversions schemes in multiple jurisdictions that was facilitated by and for the defendant, expedition of the DC case needs recognized by the Supreme Court by the unanimously agreement to lift the stay of prosecution. The Florida court judge has already shown bias and misplaced loyalty. In my opinion

Federal (article III) judges get lifetime appointments as long as they show "good faith" judgments. Unfortunately, the only way to remove them is through impeachment. The outcome of which is based purely on politics
