Here is one of my favorite trumpet warm ups. Simple, effective, and not very long. I take the horn off of my face in between each arpeggio and shoot for a relaxed open sound. I also try to have all the notes in the arpeggio match in sound quality and color.
Some people drop their jaw when playing in the pedal range. If this works for you, and you are able to ascend out of the pedal register easily, then do that!
I mention in the video that I try to move as little as possible. This helps me connect the notes a little easier. Until recently, I had a really difficult time years ago trying to figure out the benefit of playing pedals.
We are all different. Some players free buzz, some mouthpiece buzz, some lead pipe buzz, and some play pedal notes in their routines. Some do a combination of these exercises. Some players pull their horn out of the case and play a few notes and play beautifully without warming up at all! Unfortunately, I'm not one of those players. I like to try everything and see what works for me.
