Yeah, Irish person here and I've always found German people very nice and fun loving. They're great on a night out especially when they've had drink taken haha 🍻. Also, apparantly 'bastard' must not be an offensive term in German as the guys I was out with nearly died laughing when they heard it used as an insult. Cultural miscommunications can be fun lol.

Dont take it so by the letter. Its stereotypes usually and its kind of fun. But IRL germans are really nice online in games for example. I have actually never met any german that I didnt go along with...so they are pretty laid back and chill, and like to talk alot about anything etc. But in my head I also see germans like upstuck by the letter and boring but I know its not true. I guess we are pretty similar, german, brits and scandinavians. We have similar climate, similura humour, simular culture but ofc big differences also...ofc.

@@daweiisgood2392 As a German I can tell you these stereotypes exist for a reason. I myself can see how people see us as stuck up sometimes. Germans don't really do small talk or fake niceness. Most Germans actually have really dark and self-depracating homour, it's somewhat of an inside joke among Germans to pretend not to understand jokes, especially in the comment section. There is subtle cultural differences you only notice once you learn about another culture. Both extremes do exist here, which is why our stereotypes are: being efficient and humorless but at the same time beer-loving Party people.

What you're saying about tea in Japan is actually the case for most of the Asian continent... we (the brits) got it from China originally and you will also find it heavily engrained in middle eastern cultures too. I was recently in Turkey and I honestly drank more tea there than I would in England.
