God’s Perspective on David’s Proposal

With his kingdom established and enjoying a time of peace, David proposed to build a better dwelling place for the ark of God. Initially, Nathan the prophet affirmed the king’s plan-yet his well-meaning support failed to consider the Lord’s perspective. God is sovereign; He cannot be contained and doesn’t need man’s agendas. As Alistair Begg points out, this key passage unlocks Scripture’s whole story line. By God’s hand and for His glory, David’s dynasty, and ultimately Christ’s eternal kingdom, would be established.

what amazing preaching -the amount of research pastor BEGG puts into all his preachings, really opens the whole bible to us -- how can we ever do all this without the help of this worthy and humble preacher. GOD BLESS THIS PREACHER.

Pastor Begg, your simple and straightforward approach to the scripture helps me navigate this time of false prophets and gnostics, New age one world religion, and eastern philosophy. I know I am biased but I think we had it right to begin with, Since approximately 33 AD.

What an amazing journey through 2 Samuel. This message in particular could be shared with some in the prophetic movement searching for answers during this season.

They said, "So you think you're God?" Jesus, silent, stood stoic. Leaving heaven to join us, He, in no way boasted it. Good is good, tested. Giving, not often real. The survival mode of humans Denied, not concealed. The hand knows about the other As both are busy. To insist true generosity, Yet claim the hidden booty. Unspoken, as she passed the box, The widow gave her last penny The rich man boasted on his gift, Obscenely gloating to many. Jesus smiled and gave a life. His lips and hands gave life. Never protective or militant, Receiving mostly strife. His hand, majestic, held promise. His example, more gain by silence. Ultimately, the most important character Will be the soft hand of kindness. ~ kk

The LORD telling David that He will make him an house also means that David will be part of the Body of Christ, the house of the Living God. I.e, the LORD will make David (part of) the house.
