my brotha, thank you for this video lol .. I bought me a 01' 400ex and I went to change the rear pads for the 1st time.. and that brake pad bracket flew out.. and I never bothered to re-install it since I had no idea where it went... going to install that now ...

You are lucky you can buy quads with brakes. Because where I live first thing people do around in my area is take the calipers and case savers off.

I look at it this way if you went through a set of pads it wouldn't hurt to flush out the lines and use new fluid. That's alot of heat cycles ran through it. Brake parts get super hot

What would you do?.... 2001 400EX customer bought it new once it rebuilt stock. Go to BP racing stock Wiseco top end kit kibble white valves and seals stage 1 hot cam...... break it in drive it for about 2 hours runs great. Wake up the next day fire it up and for about the first four or five minutes it smokes moderately and then clears up. Maybe bad valve seals so I go ahead take the head off change them again. Same thing after sitting for 12 hours or so it produces some smoke when it first starts..... try a different head that I have brand new with kibble white valve springs everything. Same thing...... 130 PSI compression and runs really great all except for the smoking when it first starts after sitting for more than 12 hours. Did BP racing sell me an egg-shaped cylinder what do you think ?

It could be a few different problems. Is the head oem or aftermarket? U can do a compression test to see if that's the issue too

Check out the stuff Matt said. Also all piston are more of an oval shape than perfectly round. If you measure the piston you will get your exact size from the lower part of the skirt instead of the very top of the piston. Your smoking issue could also be from your rings maybe you gapped them a little to much or you didint get a good seal from your break in.
