I have an 87. In case you didn't know, and Panthera did not inform me before I purchased the kit. You will have to cut the frame to install the battery box. Also after the flywheel cover is installed your OEM shift lever will not clear the cover. I heated and bent mine to allow for the almost 1" difference in covers. Other than that it's a great investment. A little salty at $2k after all is said and done but well worth it to me. Good luck.

i spray painted my 86trx250r frame to touch it up for now . im just using that chassis to brake in and tune the new engine . when my buddy is done with the oem 89 frame , ill swap over . my buddy is building new oem replacement frames and restores the oem frames . im going to be product testing for him over the next year , i cant wait .

That motor turned out pretty good. Ditch that DG muffler and find a universal fit, make your center pipe and you'll be much better off without that noise cannon. That's what I did, mine had a Cobra, nothing but a noise maker. Outerwears shockwears shock cover to keep rear shock looking good. Used one on mine for years. One of my footpegs was bent, I replaced with a set from Wicked Metal Designs.

As I sit here watching at end of show I wonder if if that has hrc kit and header. If u look at needle they usually had hrc needle that came with kit and aid box lid that was cut down also a bigger header and cam

Also check and make sure fuel squirts while slide lifts. And like someone said mid body gaskets and diaphragm inside the accelerator pump are good

Wouldn’t doubt if there was a crf cam on it. Stock header is stupid with port work unless it was a HRC header
