JD use some JB I repaired a fuel tank using JB weld and it worked great never leak the 5yrs I had the car and I also repaired a dishwasher spray arm were the aluminum arm pressed into the plastic head on a 40 yr old Hobart dishwasher it handle the hot water and water pressure just fine , yes Hobart use to make residential appliances back in the 50s and 60s what do you got to lose?

The tool companies aren’t necessarily a tool company anymore, whereas they are mainly a battery company. They keep coming out with more powerful batteries and they bundle in all of the tools, it makes more financial sense to buy the tools just so that we can have the batteries. That’s why people acquire so many tools.

I know there’s a place in Hempstead,TX that repaired a gas tank for my brother’s 51 Studebaker PU. Can’t remember the name but can’t be hard to find.

JB weld and other epoxy products should work fine to repair the fuel tank you have, known plenty of guys that have done repairs this way and lasted for years until they sold the car. JB Weld also make a fuel tank specific petroleum/ethanol resistant putty called TankWeld. Also was just in the tool store last weekend and played around with all the competitors power tools selection, DeWalt probably impressed me the most but Milwaukee just have such a large range of tools and equipment it's too convenient.

Have to agree with you on the feel in the hand. I have Milwaukee, DeWalt ,Makita and a few other Brands. Makita is my favorite DeWalt 2nd Milwaukee is strong no argument there but feel and control not so much.

Tanks Inc claim to have steel tanks for 73 F350's, Parts Geeks have tanks but plugging in the VIN # offers the best way to get any results. Complete Performance offers a new fuel take up. I'm unfortunately too brand loyal (stubborn) to try anything but Milwaukee, John Deere and Ford. I did run Dodge trucks for 9 years until the engines failed in both pickups, oil passage design in a 03 and cam shaft/lifter failure in a 09 Hemi, I'm back to my favorite Ford PU design, 97 F250 HD 4X4 Extended Cab or OBS, (old body style).

well JD said it was plastic, though it does look like steel. if its steel then wash it out with good soapy hot water multiple times and weld it.@@Itsa_Mea
