Thank you very much Lois. You have inspired me to attempt abstract painting. My painting turned out better than I expected. It also helped me to let go of the so called rules of painting with water colour. It was fun and allowed me to see how it is a living medium.

I love this technique, Lois! Just have trouble choosing colors that won't turn into mud. And putting the paint on the palette knife without it flipping over. Still had lots of fun playing!

If I said "this is junk" you know I'd be less than honest. So the truth it is, it's very clever, and yes, I love it. Why does it seem so clever? Well, there are elements that defy logic, such as the way this painting has a calming effect, and yet presents as an angry sky in some way. The calming mainly provided by a simple white spot right in the middle. That, to me represents a distant sun trying to brake through the remnants of the passing turmoil of the almost spent rage of a storm. Yet the effects of the storm didn't reach the fragile flora in the foreground. Nice one Lois. TTFN
